Gavin Davis Gavin Davis 6'0" | 195 lbs | RB Shady Spring | 2024 State WV – Shady Spring ’24 RB
Shady Spring’s Gavin Davis Gavin Davis 6'0" | 195 lbs | RB Shady Spring | 2024 State WV is putting on a show for his senior season as the Tigers defeated Class AAA Ripley 33-18 and squarely back in the playoff race. Davis had another career night as he eclipsed the 300-yard rushing mark for the Tigers. He also scored five touchdowns in the game as he carries the load for a beat-up Shady Spring team that has found a new identity in the second half of the season.
Nate Hulver Nate Hulver 5'10" | 175 lbs | LB Philip Barbour | 2024 State WV – Philip Barbour ’24 RB
Nate Hulver Nate Hulver 5'10" | 175 lbs | LB Philip Barbour | 2024 State WV has been a great pickup for the Philip Barbour Colts this season and although they lost a heartbreaker in overtime to Lewis County, Hulver had another big performance. The Tygarts Valley transfer rushed for nearly 300 yards in the high-scoring contest and scored three touchdowns for the Colts. Hulver finished with 275 yards on the night as the Colts fell to the Minutemen 39-38 in OT.
Tyler Linksweiler Tyler Linksweiler 5'10" | 170 lbs | RB Independence | 2024 State WV – Independence ’24 RB
The Independence Patriots had a big night on the ground led by senior running back Tyler Linksweiler Tyler Linksweiler 5'10" | 170 lbs | RB Independence | 2024 State WV as they cruised past Nicholas County 46-0. Linksweiler rushed for 223 yards on 27 carries and amassed four touchdowns in a winning effort for the Patriots. He’s been a solid option at running back all season for Independence as they push their way back into the Top 16 in Class AA with playoffs on their minds.
Malte Feil Malte Feil 6'4" | 195 lbs | WR Linsly | 2024 State WV – Linsly ’24 WR
Senior Linsly wide receiver Malte Feil Malte Feil 6'4" | 195 lbs | WR Linsly | 2024 State WV has had back-to-back impressive performances against quality competition and earned his second weekly standout mention in as many weeks. Feil hauled in 4 catches for 136 yards and scored two touchdowns in a 27-3 win for the Cadets over Trinity (PA). Anytime you score on half of your touches and average 34 yards per catch you know you had a great night of football. Feil showed off his big play ability yet again on screen passes and burning the defense over the top. He has a great combination of size and speed and even added 2 PAT kicks, 6 tackles, and a PBU on defense and special teams.
Fisher Fry Fisher Fry 6'0" | 165 lbs | ATH Wayne | 2025 WV – Wayne ’25 ATH
The Wayne Pioneers make their way onto the weekly standouts after junior quarterback Fisher Fry Fisher Fry 6'0" | 165 lbs | ATH Wayne | 2025 WV ‘s big night in a 49-7 blowout of Sissonville. Fisher completed 100% of his passes in the game and an unheard-of 177.1 QB rating. He threw for 173 yards and four touchdowns in the game and even chipped in 25 yards rushing on three attempts and three tackles for the Pioneers.
Preston Cooper Preston Cooper 6'0" | 205 lbs | RB Scott | 2024 State WV – Scott ’24 RB
Senior running back Preston Cooper Preston Cooper 6'0" | 205 lbs | RB Scott | 2024 State WV has put three straight games of great performances together as the Scott Skyhawks develop their running game to pair with their electric passing offense. Cooper had by far his best game of the season in a 28-0 shutout of Poca. He carried the ball a whopping 30 times for 232 yards and a 7.7 yards per-carry average. This is his third straight game of rushing for at least 160 yards as the Skyhawks are now 8-0 on the season.
Casey Minor Casey Minor 6'1" | 190 lbs | LB North Marion | 2024 State WV – North Marion ’24 ATH
Senior quarterback Casey Minor Casey Minor 6'1" | 190 lbs | LB North Marion | 2024 State WV and his North Marion team had a huge win over Herbert Hoover in the “Huskies Bowl” 21-14. Minor was crucial in their victory and had 100 yards passing and rushing in the game. He completed 6 of 11 passes for 101 yards and a touchdown through the air. Minor also carried the ball 13 times for 103 yards and two more touchdowns to bring his game total to three on the night. This victory earned the North Marion Huskies the current #1 spot in the WVSSAC playoff rankings with two more weeks to go and a huge matchup with undefeated and #2 Roane County this week.
Kadien Vance Kadien Vance 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Westside | 2025 State WV – Westside ’25 ATH
Junior Westside quarterback Kadien Vance Kadien Vance 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Westside | 2025 State WV had a big night in a tough 49-27 loss to a very good Class A Tug Valley team. Vance attempted 41 passes in the game and completed 21 of them for 318 yards and four touchdowns. He also carried the ball 22 times for 43 yards and made an impact on nearly every offensive snap for the Renegades as they fall to 3-4 on the season.
Dane Hatfield Dane Hatfield 6'4" | 185 lbs | ATH Herbert Hoover | 2025 State WV – Herbert Hoover ’25 ATH
Dane Hatfield Dane Hatfield 6'4" | 185 lbs | ATH Herbert Hoover | 2025 State WV makes his way back to our weekly standouts after a few weeks off as Herbert Hoover loses a tough one to #1 North Marion 21-14. Hatfield was deadly with his legs as he has been all season and rushed for 190 yards on 29 carries and scored two touchdowns in the game. He also threw for 46 yards and committed zero turnovers as Herbert Hoover fell just short to North Marion in the Battle of the Huskies.
Malachi Stromile Malachi Stromile 5'9" | 140 lbs | ATH Weir | 2024 State WV – Weir ’24 ATH
Weir senior quarterback Malachi Stromile Malachi Stromile 5'9" | 140 lbs | ATH Weir | 2024 State WV has been one of the more underappreciated quarterbacks in Class AA this season and has been steady all year for the 8-1 Red Riders. Stromile had an efficient and big night throwing the ball in their 47-12 win over East Liverpool (OH). Stromile completed 8 of 9 passes for 192 yards and four touchdowns in the game while averaging 24 yards per pass and finishing with a 167.8 QB rating.
Brayden Carder Brayden Carder 5'11" | 200 lbs | LB Lewis County | 2024 State WV – Lewis County ’24 FB/LB
Senior bruising full back and linebacker Brayden Carder Brayden Carder 5'11" | 200 lbs | LB Lewis County | 2024 State WV had a huge night running the ball for the Lewis County Minutemen as they got a crucial victory over Philip Barbour that really helped their playoff hopes. Carder finished with 192 yards on 32 carries with four touchdowns in the contest in their Wing-T scheme. This performance pushed Carder over the 1,000-yard mark on the season and this win catapulted Lewis County to #9 in the WVSSAC playoff rankings.
Noah Collins Noah Collins 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Clay County | 2025 State WV – Clay County ’25 QB
Noah Collins Noah Collins 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Clay County | 2025 State WV finally finished a game with under 200 yards passing for the first time this season but Clay County didn’t need his services for long as they cruised to a huge 73-0 win over Class A Mount View. Although he finished just shy of 200 yards passing with 190, Collins still threw for five touchdowns and completed 16 of 25 passes. He added two carries for 25 yards in the running game and five tackles on defense in likely only a half of play. Collins and the Panthers have now won six straight and are currently in the playoff field at #15 as they surge at the right time of the season.
