<p>McDowell showed why he's regarded as one of the best backs in the state regardless of class on Friday. He did plenty in the rushing game against a stout Spartanburg defense, running for 91 yards on 23 carries. Where he shined, though, was in showcasing his versatility. He caught nine balls for 176 yards, including an 81-yard score.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='119009' first='Riley' last='Staton'] QB, Gaffney</strong></p>

<p>Staton was another Indian who had a huge night against a defense that's one of the best in the state. He threw for all three Gaffney touchdowns, finishing 21-of-30 for 343 yardsand throwing scoring two scoring tosses to [player_tooltip player_id='448239' first='Emazon' last='Littlejohn'] and the long one to McDowell to pace Gaffney.</p>

<p><strong>Andrew Stevens QB, Byrnes</strong></p>

<p>Stevens finished 23-0f-30 for the Rebels, throwing for 273 yards and accounting for four total touchdowns in a double-overtime thriller against Boiling Springs.</p>

<p><strong>Ethan Morris WR, Byrnes</strong></p>

<p>Morris came up big for the Rebels, catching seven passes for 128 yards and three touchdowns.</p>

<p><strong>Kamajay Brackett-Brannon QB, Broome</strong></p>

<p>Brackett-Brannon (pictured) showed off all of his dual-threat ability against Blue Ridge. He ran for 103 yards and two scores, averaging more than 10 yards per carry, and finished 16-of-20 through the air for 164 yards and two more touchdowns.</p>

<p><strong>Jaylen Farrington DB, Dorman</strong></p>

<p>Farrington came away with a big defensive effort in the Cavaliers' win over Mauldin, notching six tackles in the game.</p>

<p><strong>Braden Mitchell QB, Ninety Six</strong></p>

<p>In a win over Landrum, Mitchell returned from an injury and directed a second-half comeback. Trailing by seven at the half, the Wildcats scored 35 straight to take the victory, and Mitchell finished with 302 total yards, including 293 on 10-of-16 passing. He accounted for three total touchdowns.</p>
