With the regular season coming to an end and district titles on the line, we had some players step up when the team needed a big play. The players listed put up some wild stat lines and had major impacts on the outcome of their games. They were all big time playmakers on their sides of the ball which led to the teams’ victories on the night.
Terrence Guillory II | WR | North Shore | 2024
Guillory caused issues for the Atascocita secondary all game long. He was excellent in creating separation and space on his routes and making catches that required all of his concentration. Guillory showed his speed and confident hands. He finished the game with 3 touchdowns that kept the momentum with the Mustangs.
Wyatt Young | ATH | Tompkins | 2024
From the opening drive, Young prints was all over this district win vs Jordan. Young was a major threat in the read option, and used his speed and quickness to get to the outside and outrun the defense. His ability to catch the defense napping paid off for he and the Falcon offense. Young ran for 235 yards and 3 touchdowns on 16 carries, and also added a passing touchdown to that total.
Calvin Kalu-Alexander | DL | Ridge Point | 2024
Alexander was a menace on the line vs Fort Bend Travis. Applying continuous pressure, recognizing and redirecting on screens, and beating the man in front of him on crucial downs. Alexander showed his power and quickness with his first step, and put up a stat line of 7 total tackles, 3 TFLs, 2.5 sacks, and a forced fumble in the win.
Isaiah Nelson | RB | Tomball Memorial | 2025
Nelson was the workhorse for the night, totaling 201 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns on 31 carries vs Klein Oak. He was grinding out tough yardage for majority of the night, fighting off tackles and extending drives. He showed great toughness and played a big role in the teams win.
Jonathan Lazare | DB | Klein Cain | 2025
In a tough matchup vs Waller, Lazare and the Hurricane defense stood their ground and pulled out the win in an amazing game. Lazare played an amazing game when stacked in the box, and was a ball hawk when covering in the secondary. He showed his awareness and ball skills, intercepting 2 passes and was always around the ball. Lazare finished the game with 12 total tackles, 2 INTs, and a forced fumble on a busy night.
