District play is tight and the key the district crown is in arms reach for a few teams. This week gives us some powerhouse matchups in the area and a chance to see some players step up when they are needed the most.
Atascocita Eagles (7-0) vs CE King Panthers (6-1)
10/21 | 6:00pm | Turner Stadium
The Eagles have been on a tear since the start of the season and have no intentions of slowing down. They will be matched up against the King Panthers who are riding a 2 game win streak and who look to have found their groove in the last two weeks. It will be a big ask for the Panthers defense to try and halt the Eagles who are averaging almost 70 points a game in district play and also have a defense who does not budge, allowing only 5 points per game in district play. These are teams who know each other well so expect a good game on both sides of the ball.
Cypress Falls Eagles (5-2) vs Cypress Spring Panthers (7-0)
10/20 | 7:00pm| Ken Pridgeon Stadium
This District 16 matchup will be a good one. Cypress Springs are undefeated for the first time behind excellent play from Harrison Mass and the offense who are averaging 32 points a game in district play, and a stifling defense who makes plays when needed the most. On the other side we have a Cypress Falls team who has a dominant run game behind Trey Morris and a strong offensive line, and a defense who is only allowing 15 points a game in district play. The Panthers and the Eagles possibly may have the game of the week on Friday and it will be interesting to see who steps up on either side to help their team edge out the win.
Klein Cain Hurricanes (5-2) vs Klein Collins Tigers (6-1)
10/20 | 7:00pm | Klein Memorial
This will be a battle of for the top spot in District 15. Both the Hurricanes and Tigers are riding win streaking heading into the matchup and we will get a look at one of the top rush offenses vs the top defenses in the district. The Tigers are only allowing 7 points per game in district play and the Hurricanes have been on rushing frenzy on their win streak. The stands will be rocking for this one and the players will be as well.
Spring Lions (4-3) vs Dekaney Wildcats (5-2)
10/20 | 7:00pm | Planet Ford Stadium
Both the Lion and Wildcat defenses are coming off of pitching shutouts last week and are looking to add another one to the list. The Spring Lions are on a 3 game win streak and are leading the district in points, averaging 49 points in district play. The Dekaney Wildcats have shown to be a string defensive unit who rally to the ball and take care of business. The defense is allowing just 12 points in district play and will be up for the challenge vs the Spring offense. Get the popcorn ready for this one!
