Our prospect watch is back and today we're looking at some names that are standing out in both New Brunswick and British Columbia. They hail from two different programs and each recruit listed has had a nice start to the fall season. Look for them to finish strong and be key cogs for their respective programs. I will be awaiting their final highlight films following the conclusion of their 2023 campaign.

RB: [player_tooltip player_id='1031102' first='Asher' last='Beckley'], 5'11" 165, Tantramar Regional

Asher does his best work between the tackles and has the controlled cutting ability to make tacklers miss in confined spaces. He's patient, shows a hostile running style to cap off rush attempts, and has enough speed to break long runs. He's a one cut back that plays bigger than his listed weight.

OL: Wesley Hicks, 5'11" 230, Tantramar Regional

Wesley may be on the shorter side in terms of vertical stature, but man does this guy play mean. On film, he uses his natural leverage to his advantage and can unlock his hips, punch on a rise, and move down linemen against their will. He shows plenty of turnover on his knee drive, he's got a secure anchor and impressive upper-body strength. This young man is tough as nails and takes pride in finishing blocks, an art that isn't so easy to find in high school linemen.

DB: [player_tooltip player_id='881171' first='Oskar' last='McPhie'] 6'3" 165, South Delta Secondary

A lengthy safety prospect with loose hips, route recognition, and natural ball skills. Oskar stays over the top of concepts in zone coverage & breaks up on the football. He's a long strider with the speed to cover extensive ground while the ball is in the air and he displayed the leaping ability to go up & make a play on the jump ball.

DB: Darius Hanna, 6'2" 180, South Delta Secondary

Another long defensive back with instincts, physicality, and strong open-field tackling ability. Darius has previous experience at both cornerback & safety and could provide value at either. He sees through the number two receiver in zone coverage and promptly breaks on the football when the quarterback takes his off-hand away from the pigskin.

DB: Hudson Wight, 5'8" 160, South Delta Secondary

Hudson has a pitbull-type mentality, he plays fearless and shows supreme confidence on tape. He can detach from perimeter blocks, he's a high-effort prospect that chases the football and has the body control to make tough 1 on 1 tackles in space.
