There are several OL prospects who are set to have numerous eyeballs on them throughout the playoffs. Below, I highlight a good mix of OL prospects throughout every class of Nevada’s playoff tournaments.
Juan Carlos Martinez
Juan Carlos Martinez
Juan Carlos Martinez may be the most underrated 2024 OL in the playoffs. Expect that to change after Sunrise Mountain takes the field Friday for the first time this postseason. A good combination of acceleration and power shows a puller exploding through defensive ends at the point of attack. Juan Carlos shows next level strength and sustain ability driving defenders yards off the line of scrimmage. Good length and quick feet highlight Juan Carlos’ potential to be a quality pass blocker in college.
Gerald Rock Gerald Rock 6’1″ | 250 lbs | OL Shadow Ridge | 2025 NV is staple of Shadow Ridge’s offense. Gerald recently received all-conference recognition and I am surprised he has not gotten more attention from schools within the region. Gerald’s size and improved strength shows right away driving defensive tackles off the ball in the run game. Good lateral quickness and sustain ability shows easily gaining position on nose guards in outside zone plays. Expect Gerald’s playoff performances to improve his standing in the 2025 iOL rankings this winter.
Tyler Miller Tyler Miller 6’4″ | 320 lbs | OL Galena | 2024 State NV committed to the University of Nevada on August 8th. Keep a lookout for the hometown recruit to receive more interest outside the state before 2024 gets here. Tyler’s great combination of size, power, and effort shows flattening smaller linemen in the run game. Quick feet and good flexibility get displayed easily mirroring defenders in space. Expect recruiters throughout the region to keep an eye on Tyler’s senior year development as Galena takes the field this week for the first time this postseason.
Justin Blakeley Justin Blakeley 6'5" | 290 lbs | OL Mojave | 2026 State NV
Justin Blakeley Justin Blakeley 6'5" | 290 lbs | OL Mojave | 2026 State NV
Justin Blakeley Justin Blakeley 6’5″ | 290 lbs | OL Mojave | 2026 State NV is quietly having a terrific season for the second round bound Mojave Rattlers. The talented sophomore went to a camp at Northern Arizona over the summer, and I would expect him to receive more regional attention this winter. Physicality in his finish and good lower-body strength allow Justin to drive older defensive linemen from the point of attack. Good patience, a powerful punch, and quick feet when mirroring pass rushers highlights Justin’s ability to be a legitimate pass protector at the next level. Justin’s good size, quickness, and next level strength give him a chance to project to multiple OL spots in college.
Michael White
Michael White
Michael White has been the forefront of a Douglas team that earned a number one seed in this year’s playoffs. I was impressed with Michael’s improved quickness and power as a senior for Douglas’ offensive line. Next level strength gets displayed down-blocking defensive linemen and driving them from the point of attack with ease. Good flexibility and quick feet allow Michael to gain leverage on smaller defenders at the second level. Expect recruiters to keep an eye on the good-sized OL prospect as Douglas takes the field this Friday for the first time this postseason.
