Viewing a recruit’s recent highlight film is one of many tools we use to evaluate. This is how we and many college coaches can get a great feel for each recruit and their potential. These reports include a Hudl video or link for each recruit that is viewed and evaluated. Friday Film Room is a weekly report published each week leading up to the end of the 2023 year.
Harry Jones Harry Jones 6’1″ | 175 lbs | QB St. Joseph Ct. | 2027 State New E QB/Athlete
Film Review Notes: A prospect name that has surfaced repeatedly for area coaches. He is a rising freshman holding down the Qb position for his varsity team this season. He is a very versatile athlete, displaying ability to play various skilled positions, so we have him as an athlete early in his varsity career. I viewed one of his single-game films (below). His backpedal foot speed dropping in the pocket pops with a quickness. He has a quick release with obvious power in his throws. Pocket awareness is good. Knows when to step up into the pocket when feeling pressure from the edges. He can use his feet to extend the play. His current measurables align with Low FCS/ High D2 /High NAIA quarterbacks. I see him as a talented rising freshman who has time for additional growth and development that will help dictate where he lands at the college level.
Ethan Blaizern 2027|6’2 190 lb|QB/FS| 4.9 40| 3.8 GPA| Waterbury CT /Instagram: eblaize15
Film Review Notes: A rising talent at QB. Has some mechanic work that needs to be tighten up and has time to put in the work. The clips in his highlight are targeted throws and unable to evaluate his progressions. He is patient and poised at pre-snap and does a nice job checking down the defense at pre-snap. The first clip displays good pocket awareness with the ability to escape the pocket, extend the play, and make accurate throws while on the run. Flash’s ability to get the ball out quickly and accurately. His current measurables align with Low FCS/ High D2 /High NAIA quarterbacks. Another talented rising freshman who has time for additional growth and development that will help dictate where he lands at the college level.

He strikes through ball carries in the open field. He takes on and gets off blocks with a relentless pursuit of the ball carrier. An active player that’s constantly around the ball. He knocks blockers and ball-carriers backward on impact. Has very good gap integrity. Understands pursuit angles and can close time and space. His current measurables align with Low FCS/ High D2 /High NAIA linebackers and or FBS group of 5 and or High FCS linebackers. His sideline-to-sideline “speed”, along with pass coverage abilities, will be a determining factor in where he lands at the college levels. Head Coaches Comments = “First year at a new school. Elected a CAPTAIN. Elite young man with ELITE talent”.

Plays both running back and linebacker but appears to be a next-level linebacker. Has a physical, aggressive skill set with good body weight size. He loves contact, and it pops on film. He appears agile and can bend. Strong on contact. Solid knee bend. Pursues well. Instinctive in the run game. Active player shows good movement. Plays with a motor. Reacts quickly and swiftly to run and pass. His measurables align with Low FCS/D2/High NAIA Linebackers.
