Today, we will be continuing my “Stock Up Performers” series as we focus our attention on some top standouts worthy of some recognition. Without any further ado, here’s my list of the top performers through week eight of competition.
At the top of my list of notable performers is Max Dotson Max Dotson 6'1" | 280 lbs | OL Belfry | 2025 State KY , a 6-foot-1, 280-pound offensive lineman at Belfry High School. Dotson and the Pirates are coming off a 14-6 victory over Lawrence County. In addition to outstanding size and physicality, what impresses me the most about Dotson is how he quickly exerts his strength off the snap, attacking the defense in the pocket to open up running room for the offense. With consistent toughness at the line, Dotson has showcased his ability to absorb heavy pressure, contain defensive playmakers and buy his quarterback more time to make plays.

I am additionally impressed with Josh Campbell Josh Campbell 6'1" | 170 lbs | WR Paducah Tilghman | 2025 State KY , a 6-foot-1, 170-pound wide receiver at Paducah Tilghman High School. Campbell and the Blue Tornado recently defended their undefeated record, recording a 63-20 blowout win over Logan County. What stands out about Campbell is his quick execution as well as his electric breakaway speed, proving he can haul in deep passes along the edge. Campbell’s footwork and versatile edge also make him a gamechanger as he can quickly change direction, turn around for catches and break tackles on his way to the house. Campbell also impresses with his ability to juke out players in the backfield and maneuver the field in coverage.

Claiming the number three spot on my list is Landon Colvin Landon Colvin 5'10" | 190 lbs | LB Campbellsville | 2024 State KY , a 5-foot-10, 190-pound linebacker at Campbellsville High School. Colvin and the Eagles remain flawless on the year, defeating Danville 36-6. On top of excellent defensive toughness, what impresses me most about Colvin is his overall awareness and ability to read the offense like a book, using his precision in the pocket to consistently attack the rush. Another aspect of Colvin’s playstyle that stands out is his explosiveness on third-downs, using his strength to shut down the offense on the ground. Colvin’s ability to apply pressure and get to the quarterback have also contributed to his success this season.

Another skilled prospect to keep an eye on is Kaleb Dionne Kaleb Dionne 6'1" | 160 lbs | ATH Grant County | 2024 KY , a 6-foot-1, 160-pound athlete at Grant County High School. Dionne and the Braves are coming off a commanding 35-8 win over Holmes. Dionne impresses on the ground, showcasing his ability to pick up speed along the edges and break free into the backfield. Dionne also impresses with his ability to juke out and outmaneuver the defense with his strong footwork and versatile edge. Dionne additionally makes a difference offensively with his ability to block defenders and open up the field for the rush, using his physicality to stun and overwhelm the defense.
Coming in at number five on my list is Martels Carter Jr Martels Carter Jr 6'0" | 185 lbs | ATH Paducah Tilghman | 2025 State KY ., a 6-foot-0, 185-pound athlete at Paducah Tilghman High School. Carter and the Blue Tornado were victorious in their last matchup, defeating Logan County by a final score of 63-20. Carter catches my attention with his electric speed and explosiveness on kick returns and his strength on the ground, challenging the defense in the backfield with his ability to use his footwork and versatility along the edge to break free from defensive pressure and barrel into the endzone. Carter also impresses with his ability to bob and weave the defense, opening up running room down the stretch.
Also worth mentioning is Kade Goodin Kade Goodin 6'2" | 170 lbs | QB Collins | 2027 State KY , a 6-foot-2, 170-pound quarterback at Collins High School. Goodin and the Titans recently fell to Woodford County. Goodin stands out with his overall athleticism and unpredictable playstyle, proving he can beat the defense on the ground with his solid footwork and versatility. Goodin has been able to break free of the defense in the pocket, along the edge and in the redzone. Goodin also makes a difference offensively with his arm strength and precision in the air, showing off his ability to make quick throws off the snap as well as long-range darts into the backfield.
