Good Counsel took home the Greatest American Rivalry Series Award for their brilliant victory in this historic rivalry. [player_tooltip player_id='249086' first='Frankie' last='Weaver'] demonstrated next level maturity in the pocket versus a tremendous Stags pass rush, and he proved that he will put his body on the line and take hits for his team in order to make the necessary throws to win. Douglas hauled-in multiple interceptions in this game, and, in a victorious effort against DeMatha, he truly put forth his breakout performance of the year. The Senior DB cemented himself as a top uncommitted prospect in the WCAC, and I believe it's essential that DMV area scouts keep a watchful eye on Douglas for the rest of the season. He connected with one of his primary receivers, [player_tooltip player_id='277915' first='Emmanuel' last='Dyson'], on a beautiful 50 yard touchdown pass to take the lead at a crucial point in the contest. He also added another score on a short TD pass in the first quarter. Gardner threw for more than 100 yards and 2 total TDs against a very good DeMatha secondary, and, while he did have interceptions, he still performed at an elite enough level to give the Stags a chance at the win in OT.
