All scoring occurred in first half, but the Heat offense couldn’t maintain any drives or punch it in the redzone. Defense was stout at times but gave up the big play during crucial moments. Had an opportunity to come within a score but dropped a wide open touchdown to add pressure on the Buckeyes late. Here are a few highlighted players that competed to bring a bright spot to unfortunate loss.
-Played mostly guard (got reps on both sides)
-Built more like a tackle
-Strong foundation with violent punch
-Competed versus big defensive lineman with speed
rn-Get off was quick and got off blocks using speed
rn-Disrupted RPO mesh point in backfield numerous times
rn-Fought with double teams and made plays with second effort
rn-Held his gap down allowing LBs to scrap and not get covered up by OL working up
-Big hit at gunner. Covered downfield like a bullet on punt
-Fast contain man vs screens and when QB kept on pro’s. Solid tackler in space
-Secured the deep ball over top
-Ran hard with good vision. made best of opportunities when daylight showed
-Longest play from scrimmage was on a 26 yard scamper, then had a shifty 17 yard run as well
-Was a threat getting in and out of holes making the secondary tackle one on one
-Tallied a sack on top of bringing pressure in blitz package
-Thick, strong build. moved opponents on contact with or without ball
-Collected assists from backside, tracked ball well
-Pressured late PAT attempt which caused holder to pull and get smashed for a loss
