Ephrata. Ephrata had a huge win on Friday when they beat the previous unbeaten Twin Valley 52-33. Ephrata now improved to 7-1 on the year and created a 3-way tie for section 2 of the Lancaster-Lebanon League. They also are getting closer to securing a playoff spot. Both Accomplishments would be huge for Ephrata. Kris Miller has done a nice job turning around Ephrata and they are having a great season.
Coach of the week:
Matt Bauer Exeter. Exeter improved to 8-0 on the year with a 49-27 win over Hempfield last year. Exeter has won 21 straight regular-season games over the last 3-plus years. I thought Exeter would be good this year, but I also thought that they would maybe fall back and lose some games this year, that has not been the case. Exeter is still one of the best teams in the area and is setting up another winning takes Section 2 game against Manheim Central in week 10. That should be a fun one to watch.
Play of the week:
Thought I show everyone a trick play. Here is an example of a trick play I have used successfully in my coaching career. It is simply a halfback pass. The running back acts like he is running the old half-back toss and he sells like he is running then takes a few steps and throws the ball to a wide receiver. It is a great play.
