Tamarion Peterson Tamarion Peterson 5’10” | 180 lbs | RB Dothan | 2024 State AL rushed for 147 yards on 20 carries & 4 TDs vs Opelika. When I talk about competitive, I’m not just meaning wanting to win. The competitive that I’m talking about is his drive. He’s always fighting. I think it’s part of the reason he’s so hard to bring down. Peterson is always driving forward. Even when he’s getting wrapped up by a defender, he finds a way to fall forward to help pick up that extra yard or two. It comes across in his running style. He’s not going to hit you with all these jukes or shoulder fakes. He just simply gets vertical as soon as he can.
AJ Alexander AJ Alexander 5’10” | 170 lbs | RB Dothan | 2027 State AL rushed for 247 yards on 17 carries vs Opelika. This was my favorite thing when watching Alexander games. The first guy that got to him had trouble taking him down. If a defender tried to tackle him alone, he had a tough time with it as well. Teams needed to attack Alexander with multiple defenders in order to bring him to the ground. It wasn’t just his ability to break tackles that was impressive. Alexander showed great balance and vision in the open field. He has a good ability to make cuts and make defenders miss. Seeing him do this is really impressive.
Nate Jennings
Nate Jennings
Nate Jennings recorded 8 tackles, 3 TFL, sack vs Grissom. Jennings isn’t going to be the fastest or most explosive player you watch. One thing he’ll give you though is effort. The man simply doesn’t stop moving. From the time the ball is snapped until the final whistle, Jennings is chasing the ball carrier. There were plenty of tackles that most defensive lineman aren’t finishing, that his effort allowed him to be a part of. He plays sideline to sideline or 15 yards downfield… it doesn’t matter; he’s coming.
Another impressive aspect of Jennings’ game is his play strength. Over and over, I saw him collapse the pocket. Pushing the center or guard right into the quarterback’s face.
Cayden Williams Cayden Williams 6'4" | 185 lbs | LB Daphne | 2025 State AL
Cayden Williams Cayden Williams 6'4" | 185 lbs | LB Daphne | 2025 State AL
Cayden Williams Cayden Williams 6’4″ | 185 lbs | LB Daphne | 2025 State AL recorded 11 tackles, TFL, Interception returned for TD, PBU vs Foley. Flat out, Williams is one of the best tacklers I’ve watched. Not only does he make tackles, but his consistent technique, coupled with his long arms, allows him to wrap ball carriers up and drive them to the turf. Williams is great at putting himself into position to make the necessary tackle with his strong football IQ and instincts. In the instances where he is slightly out of position, Williams has put on film the ability to make diving tackles at the legs. Like all linebackers, Williams will occasionally come in too hot and miss up high, but these are few and far between. His film shows excellent pursuit and the ability to close down ball carriers.
Williams’ excellent play speed comes from his top-notch instincts and play recognition ability. Williams’ film shows that he is almost always in the right position. Rarely is Williams entirely out of a play or fails to play his zone correctly.
DJ Bulter
DJ Bulter
DJ Butler rushed for 306 yards & 4 TDs vs Alma Bryant. I love watching a running back who is willing to sit back behind the line and let the play develop before they make a move. This is exactly why I love Butler’s game. Butler does a great job of letting his offensive linemen open up a gap for him. Eventually, when Butler sees green grass in front of him, he takes off like he was shot out of a cannon. Personally, I love do-it-all running backs and having someone like Butler who is powerful, quick and patient is a dream come true.
