Week 7 gave us several exciting games with some impressive individual performances. While it was hard to pick from all of the strong performances from this past weekend, here are my top offensive performances in the state of Kentucky from Week 7.
Brady Atwell Brady Atwell 6’3″ | 225 lbs | QB Owensboro Catholic | 2025 State KY is a player that has had a strong 2023 season so far and continued to impress this past week. He led his team to a win over Todd County Central, completing 15/17 passes for 335 yards and seven touchdowns. Atwell showed a very strong arm which he used to lead his receivers down the field in the deep passing game. He also put a nice amount of touch on his passes, putting the ball where only his intended receiver could catch it. Brady currently holds an offer from Eastern Kentucky and I expect more to come his way as he has the talent to be a productive college quarterback.

Brody Benke Brody Benke 6’4″ | 235 lbs | ATH Highlands | 2024 State KY is another quarterback that has had a very strong season so far. He continued to impress this past week, leading Highlands to a win over Dixie Heights. Benke had a solid game as a passer, completing 6/14 passes for 115 yards and a touchdown. While he showed some reliability in the passing game, he made an even bigger impact as a ball carrier. He is a very hard runner with the contact balance to break tackles without losing stride. Benke has also shown the speed to run away from the defense in the open field. He finished the game with 17 carries for 166 yards and five touchdowns. Brody currently holds offers from Pikeville and Mount Union, and I expect more to come his way as he has received a lot of college interest and has the talent to play at the next level.
Highlights
Another dual-threat quarterback that has impressed so far this season is Kanyon Johnson Kanyon Johnson 6’5″ | 205 lbs | QB Madisonville-North Hopkins | 2025 State KY . Kanyon had another strong performance this past week in his team’s win over Muhlenberg County. He had a very impressive game as a passer, completing 17/21 passes for 271 yards and four touchdowns. Johnson throws a very impressive deep ball, using his strong arm to stretch the field and hit his receivers in stride. He continued to show that he is explosive in the run game, running the ball 15 times for 164 yards and three touchdowns. Johnson doesn’t currently hold any offers but he has received some college interest and has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.

The final quarterback on this week’s top performers list is Jack James Jack James 6’0″ | 190 lbs | QB Paducah Tilghman | 2025 State KY from Paducah Tilghman. James led his team to a dominant win over Logan County, completing 16/20 passes for 311 yards and three touchdowns. He showed an impressive quick release in the short passing game, showing the ability to get the ball out of his hands quickly and hit his receivers out of their breaks. James also showed the arm strength to lead his receivers away from opposing defensive backs in the deep passing game. He also showed the ability to make plays as a ball carrier, finishing the game with two rushing touchdowns. James currently holds offers from Old Dominion, Miami (OH), Troy, and Eastern Kentucky, and I expect more to come his way as he is a true Division I caliber quarterback prospect.
Tyson Martin
Tyson Martin
Tyson Martin is a player that jumped onto my radar this past week. The sophomore running back played a key role in Caverna’s win over Fulton County, carrying the ball 15 times for 381 yards and five touchdowns. He is a hard runner, showing the ability to break tackles without losing stride. Martin also showed impressive speed, showing the ability to burst through the running lane and run away from the defense. Tyson also played a key role on defense at linebacker, finishing the game with 10 tackles, three tackles for loss, and one fumble recovery which he returned for a touchdown. Martin doesn’t currently hold any offers but he is a player for college coaches to keep an eye on over the next few years as he continues to develop.
Alex Koeder
Alex Koeder
Another running back that jumped onto my radar this past week is Alex Koeder from Nicholas County. Koeder was impressive in his team’s win over Fairview, running the ball 13 times for 229 yards and four touchdowns. Alex has impressive vision, showing the ability to find the running lane and hit it with a sense of urgency. Once he hits the open field, he has also shown the speed and elusiveness to break off longs runs at any given moment. Alex doesn’t currently hold any offers but he is definitely a player to keep an eye on over the next couple seasons.
Kam Hughes Kam Hughes 5’9″ | 180 lbs | ATH Somerset | 2024 State KY is another ball carrier that stood out to me this past week. Hughes played a key role in Somerset’s win over Breathitt County, running the ball 14 times for 215 yards and five touchdowns. Kam was electric with the ball in his hands, showing the elusiveness to make defenders miss and speed to run away from the defense. He also showed impressive contact balance which he used to break tackles without losing stride. Hughes also proved to be a dangerous returner on special teams, returning one punt for a touchdown. Kam currently holds offers from Hanover and Union, and I expect more to come his way as he definitely has the talent to play at the next level.
Highlights
Steve Partin Steve Partin 6’2″ | 195 lbs | ATH Knox Central | 2024 State KY is a player that has had a very strong 2023 season and continued to impress this past week. Partin played a huge role in his team’s win over McCreary Central, running the ball 21 times for 310 yards and five touchdowns. He is a physical runner that has shown the ability to run through defenders and break tackles with ease without losing stride. Once he hits the open field, Partin has also showed that he has the speed to run away from the defense on long runs. Partin also made an impact on defense at linebacker, finishing the game with five tackles, two tackles for loss, and two sacks. Steve is committed to Yale where I can see him making an impact regardless of where they decide to play him once he gets there.
While he has typically stood out to me the most on defense so far, Daulton Tarter Daulton Tarter 5’9″ | 200 lbs | ATH Bracken County | 2026 State KY had a very impressive game on the offensive side of the ball this past week. Despite the close loss to Carroll County, Tarter had a very strong performance out of the backfield, running the ball 27 times for 339 yards and five touchdowns. Tarter is a physical, downhill runner that has shown the ability to lower his shoulder and run straight through any defender in his path. Once he hits the open field, he has shown the speed to run away from the defense and elusiveness to make defenders miss. Tarter also continued to make an impact on defense at linebacker, leading the team with 10 tackles and one tackle for loss. While Daulton doesn’t currently hold any offers, he has already received some college interest and is definitely a player for college coaches to keep an eye on over the next few seasons.

To wrap up my offensive top performers from Week 7, I have wide receiver Chadyn Morris Chadyn Morris 6’1″ | 185 lbs | WR Owensboro | 2026 State KY from Owensboro. Morris played a key role in the Red Devils’ dominant win over Marshall County, catching six passes for 171 yards and two touchdowns. Chadyn lined up on the outside where he was very dangerous in the deep passing game, using his speed to blow by opposing defensive backs to create separation. He was also electric after the catch, using his speed to get up the field to turn screens and short passes into big gains. Morris doesn’t currently hold any offers but he has received some college interest and is definitely a player to keep an eye on over the next few seasons.
