With that being said, I’m going to focus on my top performers on both sides of the ball in each class from so far. After covering class 6A-2A,I will now turn my attention to class 1A. With that in mind, here are my top offensive performers in class 1A so far this season.
Luke Pennington Luke Pennington 6’0″ | 180 lbs | QB Sayre School | 2025 State KY is a player that has been high on my radar for a while now and has continued to impress so far this season. Through his first seven games, Pennington has completed 81/120 passes for 1,198 yards, 29 touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Luke has a very strong arm which he uses to lead his receivers down the field in the deep passing game. He also puts a good amount of touch on his passes, showing the ability to place the ball where only his intended receiver can catch it. Pennington has also scored one rushing touchdown this season. Luke doesn’t currently hold any offers but I expect some to come his way soon as he has received some college interest and has the talent to play at the next level.
Highlights
Blaze Berry Blaze Berry 6’2″ | 200 lbs | QB Eminence | 2025 State KY is another 1A quarterback that has had a very strong 2023 season so far. Through six games, Berry is the statewide leading passer, completing 145/232 passes for 2,507 yards, 31 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Berry has impressive arm strength which he uses to stretch the field in the deep passing game and fit passes into tight windows in the short/intermediate passing game. He also has shown the ability to make plays under pressure, showing the ability to escape the pocket while keeping his eyes down the field to make tough throws on the run. Berry has also scored one rushing touchdown this season. While Blaze doesn’t currently hold any offers, he has received some college interest and does have the talent to play somewhere at the next level.
Highlights
The final quarterback on this list is Ethan Harris Ethan Harris 6’1″ | 150 lbs | QB Kentucky Country Day | 2024 State KY from Kentucky Country Day. Through seven games, Harris has completed 75/122 passes for 1,082 yards, 13 touchdowns, and three interceptions. Harris throws an impressive deep ball, showing the arm strength to lead his receivers down the field and touch to put the ball where only his intended receiver can catch it. He has also shown the speed and athleticism to tuck the ball and make plays with his legs when needed. Harris has carried the ball 27 times for 136 yards and six touchdowns through the first seven games. Ethan is committed to Southern Illinois where I can see him developing into a successful quarterback at the next level.
Tyson Martin
Tyson Martin
Tyson Martin is a player that has jumped onto my radar this season. Through his first six games, he is the leading rusher in 1A with 77 carries for 963 yards and 13 touchdowns. Martin is a hard runner that has shown the contact balance to break tackles in the open field without losing stride. Once he hits the open field, he has also shown that he has the speed to run away from the defense. Martin has also proven to be a dangerous returner on special teams, returning two kickoffs for touchdowns this season. He has also played a key role on defense at linebacker, accounting for 68 tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks, three interceptions, and two fumble recoveries returned for touchdowns so far. Tyson doesn’t currently hold any offers but he is definitely a player for college coaches to keep an eye on over the next few seasons.
Brock Coffman Brock Coffman 6’0″ | 160 lbs | WR Sayre School | 2025 State KY is a player that came into this season with high expectations and has lived up to them so far. Through seven games, Coffman has caught 37 passes for 618 yards and 14 touchdowns. Coffman is an explosive receiver that uses his speed to blow by opposing defensive backs in the deep passing game. He is also a very impressive route runner, using quick breaks in his routes to create separation. Coffman has also proven to be a dangerous returner on special teams, returning one punt for a touchdown so far. He has also played a huge role on defense at defensive back, accounting for five interceptions, along with one fumble recovery returned for a touchdown this season. Coffman currently holds offers from Maryland and Eastern Kentucky, and I expect more to come his way soon as he is a Power 5 caliber prospect.

Dalton Gambrel Dalton Gambrel 6'0" | 160 lbs | ATH Eminence | 2024 KY
Dalton Gambrel Dalton Gambrel 6’0″ | 160 lbs | ATH Eminence | 2024 KY is a player that has jumped onto my radar this season. Through his first five games, Gambrel is the 1A leading receiver with 40 catches for 743 yards and eight touchdowns. Gambrel lines up on the outside where he is able to use his speed to pose as a threat in the deep passing game. He is also impressive after the catch, showing the ability to break tackles and make defenders miss in the open field to break away for big gains. Dalton has also played a role on defense, coming away with two interceptions so far. Gambrel doesn’t currently hold any offers but he deserves some attention from college coaches as he has the talent to play somewhere at the next level.
Austin Bright
Austin Bright
Austin Bright is another member of the Eminence passing attack that has stood out to me this season. Through six games, Bright has caught 22 passes for 568 yards and 10 touchdowns. Bright is electric with the ball in his hands, showing the speed and elusiveness to turn short passes and screens into big gains. He has also shown the ability to use his speed to blow by opposing defensive backs in the deep passing game. Bright has also played a role on defense, coming away with two interceptions so far. Austin currently holds an offer from Culver-Stockton and I expect more to come his way as he has the talent to play at the next level.
To wrap up my mid-season offensive top performers in 1A, I have Elijah Webb Elijah Webb 6’2″ | 170 lbs | ATH Paris | 2025 State KY from Paris. Through seven games, Webb is his team’s leading receiver with 14 catches for 380 yards and six touchdowns. Webb has explosive speed which he uses to blow by defensive backs to create separation in the deep passing game. He has also shown some reliability as a ball carrier, running the ball 18 times for 295 yards and four touchdowns so far. Webb is also an electric returner on special teams, returning one punt and two kickoffs for touchdowns this season. He has also played a key role on defense, coming away with three interceptions so far.
