Maxwell Molessa Maxwell Molessa 6'0" | 190 lbs | ATH Williamstown | 2024 State WV – Williamstown ’24 QB
Maxwell Molessa Maxwell Molessa 6'0" | 190 lbs | ATH Williamstown | 2024 State WV was up to his old tricks yet again in a 56-21 win over Webster County. Molessa totaled 6 touchdowns in the game with three a piece coming through the air and on the ground. He rushed 21 times for an incredible 195 yards and three touchdowns. Molessa added 81 yards in the passing game for another three scores on an efficient 10 of 12 completions. He’s certainly making his case to be the Class A Player of the Year as Molessa and Williamstown look to be well on their way to another state championship game appearance.
Sean Winfrey Sean Winfrey 6'0" | 185 lbs | RB Tyler Consolidated | 2024 State WV – Tyler Consolidated ’24 RB
Tyler Consolidated’s Sean Winfrey Sean Winfrey 6'0" | 185 lbs | RB Tyler Consolidated | 2024 State WV makes his second appearance of the season in three attempts with another big performance for the Knights in a 49-7 win over Calhoun County. The senior running back was impressive in three phases of the game while also starting on defense at linebacker. Winfrey is known to be a prolific runner but it was in the passing game and on special teams where he was equally impressive in this game. He rushed for 121 yards and 3 touchdowns but also tallied up 118 receiving yards and a 96-yard kickoff return touchdown. It looks like the new Tyler Consolidated offense is making an effort to get him the ball more this season through air and he repaid the favor with a big night.
Bryson Elia Bryson Elia 5'10" | 150 lbs | ATH Tug Valley | 2026 State WV – Tug Valley ’26 ATH/DB
Tug Valley had a pair of athletes that had a night to remember in a 51-7 win over Symmes Valley (OH). Sophomore Bryson Elia Bryson Elia 5'10" | 150 lbs | ATH Tug Valley | 2026 State WV had a monster game in both the receiving and rushing game. Eli carried the ball 10 times for 129 and three touchdowns averaging 12.9 yards per carry. He would also catch 8 passes for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns to bring his total to 5 touchdowns on the night. Elia is also a starter at defensive back and put together a complete game for the Panthers in a blowout victory.
Preston May Preston May 5'9" | 155 lbs | QB Tug Valley | 2027 WV – Tug Valley ’27 QB
Tug Valley freshman quarterback Preston May Preston May 5'9" | 155 lbs | QB Tug Valley | 2027 WV threw three first-quarter touchdowns including two to the previously mentioned Bryson Elia Bryson Elia 5'10" | 150 lbs | ATH Tug Valley | 2026 State WV . He would also add two touchdown passes to our Class A Preseason Defensive Player of the Year Buddy Marcum Buddy Marcum 6'4" | 225 lbs | DL Tug Valley | 2024 State WV who also plays tight end for the Panthers. In total, May was 17 of 24 for 184 yards and four touchdowns in a dominant win over Symmes Valley (OH). May also carried the ball three times for 39 yards in the contest and appears to have a very bright future for Tug Valley.
Tristen Cline Tristen Cline 5'10" | 130 lbs | WR Montcalm | 2025 WV – Montcalm ’25 WR
Montcalm got a 30-0 shutout win over Paden City and the Generals got a big performance from junior receiver Tristen Cline Tristen Cline 5'10" | 130 lbs | WR Montcalm | 2025 WV . Cline got the scoring going with a 30-yard touchdown pass from Jaylen Younger Jaylen Younger 5'9" | 200 lbs | QB Montcalm | 2025 WV to make it 6-0 in favor of Montcalm. They would extend their lead to 24-0 on another Younger to Cline 36-yard connection through the air. He would finish the game with 4 catches for 90 yards and his two touchdowns in the win.
Wyatt Milhoan – Ravenswood ’24 WR
Wyatt Milhoan had a very productive game for the Ravenswood Red Devils in a tough 59-14 loss to power Wahama. Milhoan was the lone bright spot for the Ravenswood offense rushing for 52 yards on 12 carries and also catching 4 passes for 114 yards and a touchdown. His touchdown reception was an 81-yarder and the playmaker will be one to watch for Ravenswood this season in Class A.
Klypsan Wallace Klypsan Wallace 5'8" | 180 lbs | RB Cameron | 2025 WV – Cameron ’25 RB
Klypsan Wallace Klypsan Wallace 5'8" | 180 lbs | RB Cameron | 2025 WV carried the load for the Cameron Dragons in their 52-0 dominating win over Frontier (OH). Wallace had a huge night on the ground carrying the ball 18 times for 199 yards and three touchdowns. The junior workhorse averaged just over 11 yards per carry and through three games with his new team has 426 yards and 6 touchdowns while averaging 8 yards per carry in the first part of the 2023 season.
Turner Shriver Turner Shriver 6'0" | 155 lbs | QB Ritchie County | 2026 WV – Ritchie County ’26 QB
Ritchie County makes its first appearance in the weekly standouts with sophomore quarterback Turner Shriver Turner Shriver 6'0" | 155 lbs | QB Ritchie County | 2026 WV having a night to remember for the Rebels. Shriver went 12 of 19 for 241 yards and three touchdowns through the air for a 63% completion percentage. He would also add a touchdown on the ground with 10 carries for 26 yards to bring his total touchdowns to four for the night. Shriver also had 6 tackles on defense and Ritchie County got a much-needed win over South Harrison.
Brandan Isaac Brandan Isaac 6'1" | 150 lbs | QB Summers County | 2024 State WV – Summers County ’24 QB
Summers County did battle with Class AA foe Shady Spring this week and senior quarterback Brandan Isaac Brandan Isaac 6'1" | 150 lbs | QB Summers County | 2024 State WV nearly carried his team to a big victory in a 31-28 defeat. Isaac did all he could to eke out a win but the larger Shady Spring proved to be too much. Isaac threw for 316 yards and three touchdowns including an 85-yarder to junior Ryan Oliveros Ryan Oliveros 5'10" | 170 lbs | ATH Summers County | 2025 State WV who has made our weekly standouts before. The two teams combined for 828 total yards in an offensive slugfest with Isaac leading the way for the Bobcats.
Cooper Ridgeway Cooper Ridgeway 6'0" | 185 lbs | RB James Monroe | 2024 WV – James Monroe ’24 RB
Cooper Ridgeway Cooper Ridgeway 6'0" | 185 lbs | RB James Monroe | 2024 WV is having a phenomenal year for James Monroe in his senior season and he was at it again in a blowout win over Class AA PikeView. Ridgeway scored four times on eight carries in the contest and rushed for 127 yards. He would score three of his touchdowns in the first half which saw an hour and 12-minute weather delay before James Monroe closed out the game in the second half. Ridgeway and the Mavericks do not appear to be slowing down anytime soon and look to make an appearance in the Class A state championship game for the second year in a row.
Maddox Shriver Maddox Shriver 5'10" | 205 lbs | LB Clay-Battelle | 2024 State WV – Clay-Battelle ’24 FB/LB
A wild and crazy game broke out against cross-county foes in Blacksville with Clay-Battelle hosting Valley on Friday night. Clay-Battelle narrowly lost in double overtime 50-48 in what was a high-scoring affair. Senior fullback and linebacker Maddox Shriver Maddox Shriver 5'10" | 205 lbs | LB Clay-Battelle | 2024 State WV had a night to remember for the Cee Bees. Shriver averaged 9.2 yards per carry on his way to scoring multiple touchdowns. He also had a very productive evening on defense making 11 tackles, 2 TFLs, and a sack to cap a fantastic night for the senior.
