Week four of the regular season could be termed the night of the quarterbacks in the Midlands area. But there were also a few running back standouts along with some top defensive performances as we award this week's Game Balls.

[player_tooltip player_id='272715' first='Brady' last='Albro'] QB, Chapin

Chapin has surged to a 4-1 record in the non-region portion of the schedule and a lot of that has to do with the play from Albro. The junior quarterback has been spectacular, throwing for 1,240 yards and 15 total touchdowns. He was at it again in a 38-31 over Brookland-Cayce. He finished 22-of-30 for 300 yards and three touchdowns.

[player_tooltip player_id='267430' first='Jaden' last='Allen-Hendrix'] RB, Irmo

Irmo put the rest of the state on notice Friday night with a 35-21 win over Hartsville. The Yellow Jackets are proving weekly they are a real contender in Class AAAA and the play of Allen-Hendrix is one of the main reasons why. He ran for 201 yards and four scores against the Red Foxes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1012701' first='Maurice' last='Anderson'] RB, Dutch Fork

After losing their first three games of the season, the Silver Foxes are starting to find its footing. Anderson was a big reason in the 41-19 win over North Augusta on Friday. He had touchdown runs of 13 and 65 yards and finished with 172 yards on just eight carries.

Kinson Holland RB, Hammond

The Skyhawks are at midseason, and this is usually the time the defending SCISA Class AAAA start figuring things out. After a challenging early season schedule, things are coming together. Holland ran for 188 yards and two TDs on 24 carries in a 25-7 victory over Wilson Hall.

[player_tooltip player_id='840548' first='Tre' last='Howard'] QB, Ridge View

Howard, a freshman, has seen action in every game but he started Friday with normal starter [player_tooltip player_id='997121' first='Breylon' last='Boyd'] banged up. In a 40-14 victory over Dreher, Howard threw for 332 yards and four touchdowns in his first varsity start. Three of those scoring passes went to [player_tooltip player_id='233146' first='Jordon' last='Gidron'].

Jesse Hoover QB, Airport

The Eagles are off to a 4-1 start, their best in several years. Hoover has been pivotal and was again in a 35-18 victory over Fox Creek. The senior threw for two scores and ran for another to continue his hot start to the year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1142538' first='Caleb' last='Pearson'] ATH, CA Johnson

In a year of great rushing performances, Pearson might have had the best yet. In a 42-27 win over Swansea, the senior went over 1,000 yards on the season with 390 yards and five touchdowns on 22 carries. He also caught two passes for an additional 38 yards. He has 1,218 All-purpose yards.

[player_tooltip player_id='1012860' first='Chris' last='Pearson'] DB, Fairfield Central

The Griffins picked up a 27-8 region victory over Keenan thanks to the play of their defense. Pearson was a huge factory with an interception return for a touchdown.

Ezerial Prater DB, Mid-Carolina

The Rebels picked up their first win of the season with a 29-6 victory over Columbia. Prater led the defensive effort with a pick-6.

The Timberwolves offense has been on a tear, averaging 53 points per game. They haven't scored less than 49 points in any game and their best effort came in a 67-6 win over South Aiken.

It was a banner night for Skehan in a 53-14 win over Heathwood Hall. He finished the night 15-of-22 for 250 yards and three touchdowns while adding 50 yards rushing and two scores on nine carries.

[player_tooltip player_id='1025784' first='Roper' last='Wentzky'] QB, AC Flora

The Falcons came up on the short end of a 52-27 loss to Camden, but Wentzky is proving to be a star in the making. The sophomore threw four touchdown passes for the second straight week. Three of the scores went to [player_tooltip player_id='1165081' first='Kendall' last='Byrd']. With several injuries on the offensive side of the ball, he will be a focal point with region play starting.

[player_tooltip player_id='139311' first='Grayson' last='White'] QB, Camden

The Bulldogs were coming off two straight losses but White wouldn't let it turn into three losses. The senior threw for five touchdowns and ran for another in the 52-27 victory over AC Flora. Aiden Heriot caught three of the TD passes and also threw one of his own.

Trevon Willamson OLB, Gilbert

The Indians recorded a signature win in a 14-3 win over Lexington, who came in ranked No. 3 in Class AAAAA. Gilbert recorded seven sacks and limited the Wildcats to 165 total yards and 65 yards rushing. Williamson was a big key in that with 12 total tackles, one tackle for loss and one sack.

[player_tooltip player_id='272698' first='Will' last='Wilson'] QB, Richland Northeast

The Cavaliers will be relying heavily on the junior NC State commit as the season rolls into the second half. Wilson had three passing touchdowns and ran for two additional scores as Richland Northeast defeated Spring Valley 49-27, the Cavaliers first win since 2011 in the series.
