Just a junior, Curries decided to step up and become a leader on the Yellow Jacket defense. He's been all over the place so far this year, starting the season off with a bang with an outstanding 23-tackle performance against Campbell. In week two, Currie made 16 tackles against Paulding County before making 10 tackles over River Ridge. In a tough week four battle against Kell, Currie made 11 tackles. Through four games, Currie has made a total of 60 tackles, making him on of the state's leading tacklers through the first four weeks of the season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><a href="https://www.maxpreps.com/ga/woodstock/river-ridge-knights/athletes/brandon-burdett/football/stats/?careerid=3d5b7k5db0m11">Brandon Burdett</a>e - River Ridge</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A versatile linebacker with big time speed, Burdette is a hard-hitting defender with big play ability. He's off to a great start to the 2023 season, making an eye-opening 50 tackles through the first three games of the season. In his first game, the Cherokee County linebacker made 14 tackles and 3 TFLs in a win over Hillgrove. In weeek two, the River Ridge standout was all over the field, making 22 tackles and five more TFLs in a win over Pope. And in his third game, Burdette made 14 tackles and two more TFLs during a tough loss to Sprayberry. He has a true nose for the football and reacts quickly early in the play. He comes down-hill in a hurry with the ability to secure a sound, fundamental tackle. In week one, Mcgrinn made an impressive 12 tackles in a tough loss to Manchester. In week two, the Bowdon defender made an eye-opening 15 tackles in a loss to Central. He followed that up with a big 13-tackler performance in a win over Bremen then made 6 tackles last weekend. In total, Mcgrinn has made 46 tackles to start the season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
