Demasi had the best game of his young career as he helped lead Verona to a 34-31 victory over Madison by completing 20 of 26 passes for 360 yards and four touchdowns. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound signal caller was poised in the pocket and did a good job getting the ball to his playmakers as he threw touchdown passes of 5, 10, 25 and 70 yards.
Wright Jr started his high school career with a bang as the freshman led his Newark Central team to a convincing 42-6 victory over Hoboken this past weekend. The freshman finished the game 14 for 20 for 324 yards and two touchdowns and he also added a score on the ground.
Williams has started the season on a tear as he’s already thrown for more than 700 yards and 11 touchdowns during the first two weeks of the season. This past week he was 11 of 21 for 321 yards and six touchdowns — tops in the state. He also rushed the ball six times for 63 yards and a score as Orange shutout Paterson Kennedy 50-0.
Highlights
Anderson completed 18 of his 37 passes for 313 yards and two touchdowns in a tough 46-36 loss to Summit. The dual threat also scampered for a 56-yard touchdown run in the first half.
