One of the teams I have had the opportunity to see early in the season is the Pattonville Pirates. Here is my takeaways on some of the standouts I watched.

Kaleb Eleby 2025 QB
The very speedy quarterback has a good arm and can really spin it, but Eleby has been doing most of his damage with his legs early in the year. Kaleb has run a 4.77 laser forty and has put that speed to good use as the Pirates leading rusher gaining 224 yards and scoring 5 touchdowns on the ground. Through the air he has thrown for 163 yards and 2 more scores.

Michael Allen 2024 LB
Allen is one of the most underrated seniors in the state of Missouri in my opinion. At 6'2" 235-pound Allen is a man among boys physical and with his play, especially on the defensive side of the ball, where he flies to the ball in hurry and means business on arrival. He's among the leading tacklers for the Pirates and also has done a nice job at running back in limited opportunities.

[player_tooltip player_id='392793' first='Terrell' last='Porter'] Jr. 2024 LB
Another really talented senior linebacker for Pattonville that has been a real playmaker. Terrell has also recorded 16 tackles, a sack and 2 fumble recoveries. He also has good speed and is physical with a nose for the football, and has been a big contributor to the program for his career.

Lawrence Jackson 2024 RB
Jackson is a powerful running back with pretty good speed and is the Pirates second leading rusher behind Eleby. He runs hard on every carry and has the ability to make yards after contact. Lawrence has good feet and keeps his legs going as he shows his strength.

[player_tooltip player_id='1326747' first='Evan' last='Bryant'] 2027 C
This freshman really impressed me as the Pirates starting center. Bryant is a smart, skilled young guy who plays like a veteran of high school ball. He also has good size at 6'0" 253lbs and displays good athleticism, strength and quickness already. Evan was impressive both as a run blocker as well as with his pass pro abilities. He's a name to watch for over the next four years.

[player_tooltip player_id='1188470' first='Chase' last='Love'] 2027 NG
Another freshman who I watched that caught my attention was DL [player_tooltip player_id='1188470' first='Chase' last='Love'], who despite not putting up big numbers, did a great job holding down the middle of the defensively line against some experience offensive linemen. He's quick and strong and did a good job fighting off blockers to allow his linebackers to make plays. As he continues to grow and get bigger along with gaining experience, Love will be even more of a factor for the Pirates defense.
