Highlights
Manu rushed for 156 yards and 4 TDs on 14 carries in Spring Valley’s 37-6 win over Bonanza. He showed pure 3-down back ability with his playmaking out of the backfield and physicality as a pass-blocker. He’s a strong, balanced runner that can generate downhill power and finish through contact. Manu and Spring Valley travel to Gilbert, AZ to face Perry on Friday.

Taylor totaled 163 rushing yards and 1 TD on 23 carries in Durango’s 27-13 win over Desert Oasis. He’s a smaller back (5’6”/155) with fluid speed, agility, and explosion. He’s slippery at the LOS using his low pad-level and center-of-gravity to his advantage. Taylor will look to build off a productive game 1 when Durango hosts Coronado on Friday night.

Craig and senior RB DJ Gonzalez-Brown combined for 240+ rushing yards and 2 TDs in Damonte Ranch’s 42-7 win over North Valleys. Craig totaled 142 yards and 1 TD on 14 carries for an average of 10 ypc. He’s a shifty back that can make defenders miss around the edge and find space at the second level. Damonte Ranch hosts Truckee on Friday in a matchup of two 2-0 teams.
Burrell showed why he’s one of the best RBs in the state with 104 yards and 3 TDs in Desert Pines’ 38-13 win over Faith Lutheran. He flashed great vision and contact balance as a runner and played with effort and physicality in blocking situations. Burrell and Desert Pines host St. Louis (Honolulu, HI) who’s coming off a loss to Liberty last week.
