Newton Rams

Down in Covington, the Newton Rams are fighting hard and tied atop the 7A Region 4 standings along with undefeated Parkview and South Gwinnett. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='681162' first='Deron' last='Benson'] has been a bright spot for the Rams offensively, making big throws and taking care of the football. Defensively, the Rams have played lights out with two shutouts. They've only given up 10+ points in one game this season. They're fundamentally sound, play together, and fly to the football. They're tough to move the ball on, and that's a big reason why they're off to a 5-0 start with wins over Westlake, McEachern, Alcovy, Hapeville Charter, and Eastside

South Gwinnett Comets

Another undefeated team in region four, the Comets are off to an impressive 4-0 start with wins over Pebblebrook, Meadowcreek, Dacula, and Decatur. They're running the ball extremely well, averaging over 200 rushing yards per game so far this season. Their defense has recorded two shutouts and are playing very well as a group. There's plenty of under the radar talent on the roster which could help them continue their winning ways this fall. They are a real program on the rise playing with a lot of confidence right now.

Parkview Panthers

A team with state title aspirations this year, Parkview has one of the more talented rosters across the state in 7A this fall. Offensively, they're led by running back [player_tooltip player_id='332428' first='Trelain' last='Maddox'] and 5-star wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='165717' first='Mike' last='Matthews']. They also have a massive offensive line and an experienced quarterback leading the way. Defensively, there's talent all over the field, and they've recorded two shutouts so far this year. They have wins over Kell, North Gwinnett, St. Pius, and Shiloh. They're scored at least 40+ points in three of four games while getting to the 30-point mark in every game so far. They're playing well and appear to be the favorites to win the region later this fall.

Grayson Rams

The always talented Grayson Rams are currently 3-1 with their lone loss coming out of the region. The Rams have won three games in a row against Eagles' Landing, Fort Dorchester, and Spartanburg. Quarterback Jeff Davis is playing extremely well, throwing for 13 TDs and zero INTs to start the year. They also have two running backs over 200 yards so far through the first four games. Defensively, led by 5-star linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='212311' first='Tyler' last='Atkinson'], continues to improve. They ran into an outstanding Walton offense in the opener, but have since shut out two opponents. They are playing better and better with a new coaching staff who hopes to turn Grayson back into a 7A state title contender.
