Andrews was one of our top-rated defensive backs and one of the top-rated recruits in Utah going into the 2023 season, and since game one, he has only proceeded to decimate the competition. He put on a master class in defensive back play against Bingham in the Cavemen's shutout victory against Bingham. Andrews finished the game with five tackles, most of which prevented big plays from being broken and broke up what would have been a big pass for Bingham that would have completely changed the momentum of last Friday's game.

[player_tooltip player_id='407002' first='Zach' last='Smith'] || DB || 6'2 || 210 || Northridge High School || 2024

Smith has been sharp for Northridge defensively all season. He's had games with 14 tackles and 15 tackles and has had nine or more in every game but one this fall. Smith started week five off with a big play for the Knights with a pick-six in the opening few minutes of Northridge's bout with Viewmount. He had six tackles and helped slow down the Vikings offense in the Knights 44-35 win. Smith will continue to make sensational plays throughout the rest of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1207655' first='Austin' last='Paris'] || DB || 5'10 || 140 || Grand High School || 2026

Paris has been on a tear in 2023. The Red Devils star defender leads the state in interceptions with six. He also leads the state in games with three or more interceptions. Paris has picked off Ignacio and Carbon a combined six times in two steller positions. Paris is the perfect ball-hawking defensive back who flies around the field and makes plays on balls in the air. He had seven tackles against North Sevier, and it's his fourth straight game with six or more tackles.

Jaxon Allen || DB || 6'0 || 145 || Gunnison Valley High School || 2024

Allen had three tackles and an interception in the Bulldogs 36-19 week five win over Parowan. He led the Gunnison defense in an outstanding performance where they held the Rams under eight points in every quarter and zero points in the fourth. Allen has an exceptionally high football IQ and has three interceptions in 2023. The Gunnison defensive back is elite in coverage and a physical run defender.
