With a 35-13 win vs. a good Paramus team last weekend, Old Tappan has hit the ground running in 2023. A purely dominate effort, the team was lead by [player_tooltip player_id='539076' first='Alex' last='Orecchio'] who tossed two touchdowns in the win. On the defensive side of the ball, [player_tooltip player_id='538699' first='Evan' last='Brooks'] showed how impactful he can be by intercepting the ball once and also returning a fumble for a touchdown. Old Tappan has started the season off hot, but is going up against a strong opponent in Northern Highlands.

West Morris is led by a stout backfield. With multiple weapons that seem to just continue to reload, defenses get very little rest against this rushing attack. For instance, senior running back's Jack DeFusco, [player_tooltip player_id='1086092' first='Garrett' last='Crisp'], and Tyler Wu have rushed for a combined 306 yards and 3 touchdowns thus far. Junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1260347' first='Jaxon' last='Corkery'] has also helped out in the backfield with 42 rushing yards and a touchdown. Defensively, Jack DeFusco is leading the charge as well with 19 tackles, while senior Gavin Drown has 2 picks on the season already.

Mt Olive's junior QB [player_tooltip player_id='1043553' first='Jack' last='Asbury'] has been a true playmaker early in the season for his squad. Tossing for 432 yards and 5 tds through the first two games, Jack is starting to turn some heads. On the rushing side of it, junior [player_tooltip player_id='1043545' first='Tyler' last='Cumming'] has rushed for 231 yards and 3 tds. On the defensive side of the ball, [player_tooltip player_id='1087572' first='Lincoln' last='Youtz'], a 2025 LB, has already racked up 20 total tackles, 2.5 sacks, and forced a fumble. Mt. Olive has a strong 2025 class that is demonstrating early on how impactful they can be.
