One of the most successful backs from a year ago in north Jersey, Tyler Cumming Tyler Cumming 6'0" | 195 lbs | RB Mount Olive | 2025 State NJ is entering 2024 with the hopes of bringing his program a state title. There are few players in the state that are essential to a team’s success, but that’s just what Tyler is. Rushing for 1467 yards and 14 touchdowns last fall, Tyler displayed dominance on the ground as few defenders could stop him once he got cooking. Tyler is aggressive in his running style, often carrying defenders and breaking through tackles as if there was nothing in his path. Tyler is another one of those backs that doesn’t get rattled after first contact. You’ll often find defenders bouncing off of him as he remains on his feet.
Tyler is not only a challenge to bring to the ground, but has shown that he can react in an instant and cut away from a defender waiting for him in the backfield. With that type of quickness on his feet Tyler can avoid danger and find an open lane to navigate through. Tyler can make that one cut, burst into the open field, and be ready to take on the next defended in his way. Look for not only a big performance out of Tyler in 2024, but a big year out of Mount Olive as well.

Olive fell to Ramapo in the state semifinals, don’t be surprised if they make their way back and possible a step further in 2024. With nearly 1600 offensive yards this past season and 14 touchdowns, Tyler dominated defenses as he made gaining hard yards look easy. A runner that keeps his legs churning, Tyler has the strength to break through tackles and keep the pile moving. Look for him to make another big impact in 2024.

One of the most talented returning RBs in the north, Tyler Cumming Tyler Cumming 6'0" | 195 lbs | RB Mount Olive | 2025 State NJ has been absolutely dominant on the ground for Mt. Olive. With 1315 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns so far, Tyler is built like a power back but is equipped with a burst of speed when needed. Tyler runs hard and makes his way through arm tackles with ease, as you can find him dragging would-be tacklers downfield. Tyler went insane last weekend against Roxbury as he ran the ball 28 times for 204 yards and a touchdown. Tyler will look to repeat that success as his team lines up against one of the best teams in the state in Ramapo.
