I have to start with the play of big time senior linebacker prospect Grayson Cutchlow Grayson Cutchlow 6'3" | 220 lbs | LB Rock Bridge | 2024 State MO (6’3″ 225) who played lights out for the entire game in the best linebacker, and possibly best overall defensive defensive performance, I have seen this year. He seemed to be everywhere and his stats showed that with 15 tackles, 2 sacks, 7 tackles for loss and 3 pressures. Grayson’s combination of size and speed was difficult for the Crusaders to handle. He can do it all and on top of that is very physical and a big hitter. There are players on Big 12, SEC, Big 10 and other football program’s rosters who are not as capable. While he has multiple D1 offers it’s clear that he needs to be recruited more heavily by schools from those conferences.
2025 big-time QB Brady Davidson Brady Davidson 6'5" | 205 lbs | QB Rock Bridge | 2025 State MO (6’5″ 205) threw the ball incredibly well as he always does, and had some nice numbers going 19 for 32 (59%) for 216 yards and a touchdown, but had the misfortune of some of his usually very reliable receivers have off nights, as well as mistakes and some strange calls go against the Bruins. Davidson is very smooth, calm and poised in the pocket. He has very good mechanics and throws almost a perfect ball, especially on his deep throws, showing good velocity and placement. He’s seeing his recruitment start to pick up with schools such as Missouri, Iowa State, Nebraska, Kansas State and other Big 10, Big 12 and SEC schools.
Junior WR Devin Holt Devin Holt 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR Rock Bridgr | 2025 State MO (6’2″ 185) had a very good game hauling in 7 passes for 104 yards and a touchdown using his speed and good route running abilities to get separation and be consistently open for much of the game, and requiring additional attention late. Holt has big time speed and athleticism to go with his good size and pass catching ability. He’s a complete receiver and can play inside or out. What’s interesting is that he is just scratching the surface and has a high ceiling still to reach.
The Bruins have another college prospect at linebacker who deserves the attention from D1 schools in senior Elijah Morton Elijah Morton 6'1" | 210 lbs | LB Hickman | 2024 State MO (6’2″ 225) who also was a big presence on defense making plays and delivering big hits on the night on his way to 11 tackles and 2 tackles for loss. Elijah is a complete linebacker who can cover in pass defense, run sideline-to-sideline against the run or rush the passer. He has good speed and athleticism and physical.
Fellow senior LB Spencer Irvin (5’11” 190) was also very active and in on a lot of plays with 14 tackles in the game and deserves mention among those who stood out.
Senior offensive tackle Carter DeVore (6’4″ 275) also deserves a mention for battling all game long and leading the offensive line. DeVore did a nice job in protecting his QB from what I saw during the game in what was a hard fought battle in the trenches all night long.
