With the win Colgan gets back to .500 at 2-2 and will head into conference play with plenty of momentum and a good shot of making the playoffs. Osbourn Park (1-3) will be looking to end their three game losing streak next Friday when they welcome undefeated Gainesville (4-0). Listed below are a couple of my standouts, as you can imagine it is pretty one sided:
George Hall
George Hall
Sophomore quarterback George Hall had his best game as a starter in Manassas last night. Accounting for 5 total touchdowns (4 passing, 1 rushing) Hall was really seeing the field well last night. What seemed to elevate his game was that he wasn’t just locking in on star receiver Tyler Henry, he was spreading the ball out to multiple receivers and running backs. I think that will be a key for Colgan as they begin conference play, everyone knows how good Henry is and will most likely key on him. If Hall can do what he did last night, then bet on the Sharks reaching the playoffs.

Tyler Henry
Tyler Henry
Stop me if you heard this before, but Tyler Henry is leading the charge for the Sharks playoff push. It continued last night where he had a receiving, rushing and punt return for touchdowns. His punt return was my favorite as he looked like a human joystick as he juked multiple Yellowjacket defenders on his way for 6. Henry has been a difference maker for Colgan for a few years now, what Coach Scott is enjoying about him most this year is the leadership he has taken upon himself.

Ethan Norah
Ethan Norah
Senior linebacker Ethan Norah was very impressive last night, displaying great football awareness and ball skills, this young man can play at the next level. On Osbourn’s second possession he bullrushed his way to block a punt then scoped up the football for a nice return. He nearly scored if Cabrera didn’t track him down, but some may not know that play is not an easy task. The way he was able to scoop and nearly score I have seen many kids fumble that exchange, but that was not the case with him. Norah is not only a special team standout for the Sharks he is one their leaders on defense.

Adrian Cabrera
Adrian Cabrera
Senior quarterback Adrian Cabrera was constantly under duress last night from the Sharks defense. Sacked 10 times, Cabrera was on the run all evening not having much time to throw, but still he made some plays. You have to admire the heart and effort this young man put in last night as he took a beating. In spite of that he was able to move the ball downfield and put the Yellowjackets in scoring position on numerous occasions. Whether it was with his arm or legs, Cabrera made some plays last night. He is more than athletic enough to play college football at the division 3 level, I could easily see him as a free safety somewhere next fall.

Cameron Davis
Cameron Davis
Davis was a force to be reckon with last night along with the entire Colgan front 7. Like a number of his teammates he was nearly unblock able and accounted for 2 sacks and 3 tackles for losses. This junior is coming into his own for Coach Scott’s defense and has led the charge for the Sharks posting their second shutout victory of the season. Standing at 6’2 and just under 200 lbs. you can see the upside with this young man.
