He is a 6’5″, 310-pound Junior who runs a 4.94 40-yard dash who bench presses 365-pounds and squats 455-pounds with a 3.0 GPA. He plays left offensive tackle and also defensive end and defensive tackle. His personal goal on offense is to get more than 30 pancake blocks this season. His team goal is to win conference and state.
What separates Carius from other offensive linemen in the state is his athleticism and what separates him on defense is his size. He attended camps this past summer at The Showcase in Dallas, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Alabama and Georgia. Carius has heard from Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi State, Oklahoma and others reaching out. So far this season he hasn’t visited any colleges other than camps but plans on visiting several.
Carius has offers from Georgia, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Mississippi State, Missouri, SMU, Memphis, UTSA, Liberty and Texas State so far. Carius’s strengths is his combination of size and athleticism. He shows his leadership on the field by getting everyone on the field to lock in. Carius says that his big sister Paris has encouraged him the most in his football career.
He is inspired the most on the team by teammate and fellow defensive lineman Cam Brown. What Carius loves the most about playing football is being around the team.
Marion head football coach Lance Clark says that Carius has an extremely rare athletic profile. Combining the height, weight and athleticism is rare. Also extremely rare to have someone so coveted by colleges at both the offensive line and defensive line. He was not our best lineman last year, but was our best prospect. The challenge for him this off season and year was to lock in and let his production match his potential. To start this season, he has started to do that. He is a raw talent, who is only going to get better.
I feel as a Scout that Carius has so much upside that he will dominate both sides of the ball and have his choice to attend any college he wants to. The sky is the limit for him.
