Week 5 gave us several exciting games with some impressive individual performances. While it was hard to pick from all of the strong performances from this past weekend, here are my top offensive performances in the state of Kentucky from Week 5.
Steve Partin Steve Partin 6’2″ | 195 lbs | ATH Knox Central | 2024 State KY had by far the most impressive performance from this past week. He was unstoppable in his team’s win over Danville, running the ball 41 times for 526 yards and seven touchdowns. This performance lands him at third all-time in the state of Kentucky for single-game rushing yards. Partin uses an impressive combination of strength, speed, and elusiveness to break away on long runs at any given moment. He also plays a key role on defense as a linebacker, finishing last week’s game with five tackles. Steve is committed to Yale where I can see him being a very productive player for them once he gets his opportunity.
Daniel Thomas Daniel Thomas 5’9″ | 180 lbs | ATH Bell County | 2024 State KY is a player that is off to a very impressive start to the 2023 season and continued to impress this past week. Thomas played a huge role in Bell County’s win over Whitley County, running the ball 30 times for 357 yards and five touchdowns. He has blazing speed as a ball carrier, showing the ability to burst through the running lane and break away from the defense on long runs. Once he hits the open field, he has also shown the ability to make defenders Miss and has the contact balance to break tackles without losing stride. Daniel doesn’t currently hold any offers but I expect some to come his way soon as he has received some college interest and definitely has the talent to play at the next level.
Highlights
Lane Grant Lane Grant 6’1″ | 200 lbs | ATH Adair County | 2025 State KY is another player that stood out to me this past week. He helped lead his team to a huge victory over Monroe County. Grant started at quarterback where he was very impressive as a passer, completing 14/19 passes for 351 yards, four touchdowns, and two interceptions. He also finished the game as his team’s leading rusher. Lane ran the ball five times for 98 yards and two touchdowns. Grant doesn’t currently hold any offers but he is definitely a player that college coaches should keep an eye on.
Highlights
Tate Rice Tate Rice 6’2″ | 170 lbs | QB Clay County | 2024 State KY is another quarterback that stood out to me this past week. Rice led his team to a blowout win over Leslie County, completing 18/25 passes for 309 yards and five touchdowns. Tate showed a great ability to escape the pocket while keeping his eyes down the field to make throws on the run. He also showed impressive accuracy, putting the ball where only his intended receiver had a chance to catch it. Rice also showed the ability to make plays with his legs, running the ball four times for 46 yards and a touchdown. Tate doesn’t currently hold any offers but he deserves some attention from college coaches as he has the talent to play quarterback somewhere at the next level.
Cam O’Hara Cam O’Hara 6’2″ | 180 lbs | QB Cooper | 2026 State KY continued to show why he is the top-ranked quarterback in the state in his class with a very impressive performance. O’Hara led Cooper to a dominant win over Great Crossing, completing 29/41 passes for 272 yards, six touchdowns, and one interception. He has a very strong arm which he uses to lead his receivers down the field in the deep passing game. Cam has also show tremendous ball placement, putting the ball where only his intended receiver has a chance to catch it. O’Hara currently holds offers from Kentucky, Western Kentucky, Austin Peay, Miami (OH), and Tennessee State, and I expect more to come his way as he is a Power 5 caliber quarterback prospect with three years left to continue to develop.
Brady Hensley Brady Hensley 6’0″ | 200 lbs | RB Lexington Christian Academy | 2024 State KY is a player that has been high on my radar for a while now and continued to impress this past week. He played a huge role in the Eagles’ win over Lexington Catholic, running the ball 39 times for 248 yards and five touchdowns. Hensley is a physical, downhill runner that has the contact balance to break tackles without losing stride. Once he hits the open field, he has also shown that he has the speed to run away from the defense on long runs. Hensley is committed to Eastern Kentucky where I can see him developing into a key piece of their offense once he gets there.
Another ball carrier that stood out to me this past week is Markezz Hightower Markezz Hightower 5’10” | 180 lbs | RB Madisonville-North Hopkins | 2026 State KY . Hightower helped lead his team to a win over Marshall County, running the ball 17 times for 267 yards and three touchdowns. He showed an impressive amount of burst in his running, showing the ability to hit the running lane in a hurry and hit a second gear to run away from the defense on long runs. Hightower also showed impressive contact balance, showing the ability to break tackles in the open fields without losing stride. Markezz doesn’t currently hold any offers but he will definitely be a player to keep an eye on over the next few seasons.
Another offensive player from North Hopkins that stood out to me this past week is Kanyon Johnson Kanyon Johnson 6’5″ | 205 lbs | QB Madisonville-North Hopkins | 2025 State KY . The junior quarterback had an impressive game as a passer, completing 13/17 passes for 218 yards and two touchdowns. While he had a strong performance throwing the ball, he was even more dangerous in the run game. Johnson was able to put his true dual-threat ability on display, running the ball seven times for 238 yards and three touchdowns. Kanyon doesn’t currently hold any offers but I expect some to come his way eventually as he has received a solid amount of college interest and has the talent to play at the next level.

Jace Bullock Jace Bullock 6’1″ | 190 lbs | QB North Oldham | 2024 KY is another quarterback that stood out to me this past week. Bullock led North Oldham to a win over Shelby County, completing 29/43 passes for 423 yards and five touchdowns. He displayed a very impressive deep ball, showing the arm strength to stretch the field and lead his receivers away from opposing defensive backs. Bullock also showed impressive accuracy, showing the ability to fit passes into tight windows where only his intended receiver could catch it. Jace doesn’t currently hold any offers but deserves some attention from college coaches as he has the talent to play quarterback somewhere at the next level.

To wrap up my top offensive performers from Week 5, I have Jackson Wasik Jackson Wasik 5’9″ | 140 lbs | QB Lexington Catholic | 2024 State KY . Despite the close loss to LCA, Wasik had a very impressive performance. As a passer, Wasik completed 23/35 passes for 420 yards and five touchdowns. Jackson has a very strong arm which he uses to stretch the field in the deep passing game. He also has shown the ability to escape pressure while keeping his eyes down the field to make tough throws on the run. Wasik also showed the ability to make plays as a runner, finishing the game with 13 carries for 55 yards and a touchdown. Jackson currently holds a offer from Calumet College and I expect more to come his way as he definitely has the talent to play quarterback at the next level.
