Today we will focus on Randolph & Webster County. Here are some prospects you need to keep an eye on in Randolph & Webster for the 2023 season.
Cayden Ramirez Cayden Ramirez 6’4″ | 175 lbs | LB Elkins | 2024 State WV is an intriguing 2024 prospect for the Elkins Tigers who could possibly play a few different positions at the next level. Ramirez is a very lengthy 6’4 175 and sees time at wide receiver and tight end on offense and a defensive end/edge player on defense. We like him on the defensive side of the ball right now as a linebacker but if he can add enough weight he could end up as a defensive end or tight end in college. Ramirez registered 45.5 tackles and 2 sacks as a junior in 2022 along with an impressive 4 blocked kicks. His length and athleticism cause problems for opposing offensive tackles and Ramirez should be a scholarship player in college. Although a raw talent, the tools, and natural ability are there for Cayden Ramirez Cayden Ramirez 6’4″ | 175 lbs | LB Elkins | 2024 State WV to develop into a very good college athlete in time.
Elkins 2025 offensive lineman Aidan Lambert was a pleasant surprise we found when updating the 2025 rankings this summer. Lambert is a massive 6’5 285 and with that kind of size, he’s going to get plenty of college looks. He does a nice job locking onto defenders with his hands and controlling them without holding. Being a tall young player, Lambert needs to continue working on his bend and learning how to use his size to its full potential but the early signs show he’s going to be a very good player after more development. We liked Lambert so much that we ranked him 67th overall in the 2025 class and the #8 ranked offensive lineman. With continued development that ranking should only get higher in the next two years.
Riley Rider Riley Rider 6’0″ | 200 lbs | LB Elkins | 2025 WV is a hard-hitting linebacker for the Elkins Tigers and is your classic throwback middle linebacker. The 6’0 200 rising junior was a key cog in the Tigers’ defense as a sophomore in 2022 and looks to lead their defense to more success in the next two seasons. Rider is an intelligent middle linebacker and it’s no wonder why they trusted him to lead the defense early on. He reads and reacts very well and puts himself in the right position often. I mentioned his thumping abilities earlier and Rider can really lay the wood on opposing players. He’s a sure tackler and always around the ball. Rider will be a 2025 linebacker you need to know the next two years.
Tygarts Valley defensive lineman Seth Currence Seth Currence 6’0″ | 250 lbs | DL Tygarts Valley | 2024 State WV has picked up two college offers this summer from D3 Waynesburg (PA) and Bethany College (WV) and seeing his stock rise before his senior season begins. The 6’0 260 interior defensive lineman was the second leading tackler for the Bulldogs as a junior and had a monster 16 tackles for loss. Currence is quick off the ball and powerful at the point of contact. He does a nice job of keeping his feet moving after contact which allows him to slip into the backfield and create so many TFLs. Currence has a ferocity to his game that you love to see in defensive linemen and fights off blockers well. He was added to the 2024 Watch List and is a name that could enter our rankings for the next update.
Highlights
Noah Clutter Noah Clutter 5’11” | 190 lbs | LB Webster County | 2024 State WV had a productive junior season for the Webster County Highlanders in 2022. The 5’11 190 rising senior started both ways last season as a TE/FB and linebacker on defense. Clutter finished fourth on the team in total tackles with 56 and had 6 tackles for loss. Clutter can help you on both sides of the ball but I like him the most at linebacker. He flies to the ball on every play and attacks ball carriers with a purpose. I enjoyed seeing clips of him dropping into coverage and he picked off one pass in 2022. Clutter should once again be one of his team’s leading tacklers this season for his senior year.
Isaac Snyder Isaac Snyder 5’11” | 145 lbs | ATH Webster County | 2025 WV was the starting quarterback for the Highlanders as a sophomore in 2022 and threw for over 300 yards and 4 touchdowns in their run-heavy offense. Snyder is a dual-threat QB and finished last season as his team’s second-leading rusher with over 400 yards and 6 touchdowns. He’ll need to keep developing as a passer and continue fine-tuning his decision making but the young QB is getting valuable varsity time as an underclassman. Now that he’s a year older and bigger, Snyder should have a breakout junior season in 2023.
