The Oregon 2027 Watch List was recently released, with Al Popadines once again doing a phenomenal job of evaluating and breaking down the state's top middle school talent.

There is obviously a lot yet to be determined with these athletes just heading into high school but have a look at a few individuals who could be considered Oregon's best in the not-so-distant future.

[player_tooltip player_id='632957' first='Josiah' last='Molden'] 6-0 160 ATH West Linn

One of the top players in the country for his class. Molden already holds offers from the likes of Oregon, Oregon St, and Washington. He comes from a phenomenal family, both on and off the field. He has the potential of being the first player ever within Oregon to earn 1st team all-state honors as a freshman.

[player_tooltip player_id='935357' first='Josiah' last='Hawkins'] 5-8 150 CB/ATH Cascade

If projections are accurate Hawkins will be listed among the top athletes in the West and a major D1 prospect. People at the highest level have been raving about this kid, as he has elite speed and ability you can't teach. He will be a player of the year favorite on offense as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='791149' first='Kawai' last='Chamberlin'] 6-2 205 LB Sheldon

Chamberlian had one of the best-off seasons of any 8th grader in the West, racking up MVP honors at the All Poly and UTR camps as a LB. He has elite size and speed and could play early for one of Oregon's all-time best programs.

[player_tooltip player_id='855093' first='Summit' last='Cvitash'] 5-11 150 DB Lake Oswego

Definitely a kid who projects as one of the top players in Oregon. Cvitash was a defensive MVP as part of Team Lillard at DB, drawing comparisons to former player of the year Cole Prusia. With continued growth and progression he could blow up.

[player_tooltip player_id='845242' first='Sean' last='Bour-Nelson'] 5-8 130 ATH/DB Mountainside

The son of former Duck standout JD Nelson. Mountainside is one of the fastest rising programs in the state and Bour-Nelson will be one of the best in the Metro and maybe Oregon.

[player_tooltip player_id='936846' first='Leonardo' last='Correani'] 5-11 200 LB Lincoln

One of the hardest hitters and most physical athletes in the state for his class. He was a standout at the Oregon all state game and could be an all-conference LB for Lincoln as a freshman.

[player_tooltip player_id='937334' first='Parker' last='Edwards'] 6-2 215 DE Sheldon

Edwards' impresses with his combination of size and mobility. He was notably one of the best players on the field at the Oregon all state game and will project as multiyear all state kid at Sheldon.

[player_tooltip player_id='937338' first='Cash' last='Wilks'] 5-11 160 LB Lake Oswego

The Team Lillard standout also represented at the Oregon all state game and should be considered one of the top defenders in this 2027 class. Lake O should continue to thrive.

[player_tooltip player_id='937174' first='Houston' last='Lillard'] 5-5 130 CB/ATH Tigard

Everyone is familiar with the name. Lillard can play on either side of the ball but had an outstanding year on D, picking off multiple passes while being fundamentally elite.

[player_tooltip player_id='937281' first='Tripp' last='Johansen'] 6-1 215 DE Sheldon

Watch the film. Johansen was in everyone's backfield, requiring a consistent double team if you wanted to have any chance of containing him at the youth level. He will be one of the best in the state on the defensive side of the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='796492' first='Tevita' last='Lata'] 6-0 170 LB North Salem

Another reason North is one of the fastest rising programs in Oregon. The youth movement is real as well, with Lata projecting as one of the top defensive players in Oregon.

[player_tooltip player_id='937033' first='Cody' last='Mitchell'] 6-5 210 DE Crescent Valley

The Raiders went 1-8 last year and gave up a ridiculous amount of points, so it's possible the 6-5 incoming freshman gets some time this season. The size and physicality are there already.
