Bingham Miners

The Miners are 1-2, but their record is one of the most deceptive in the state. They suffered their first loss on the road at Lone Peak, but they had injuries to their starting quarterback and [player_tooltip player_id='532681' first='Carson' last='Sudbury'] that derailed their offense mid-game. Bingham did beat Crimson Cliffs in week two before falling to the top team in the country, the Mater Dei Monarchs. Bingham still has some tough games on their schedule as they prepare to take on Skyridge and American Fork, but look for them to round into form once they begin Region 2 play. Watch for Brooks Hofhine and Triston Brimhall to continue to shine for the Miners on Fridays.

East Leopards

The Leopards are 1-2 but have played some of the state's top teams in the first few weeks of the season. They narrowly lost to Orem in week one by one before falling to Falcons in week two. In week three, they beat Coronado 49-33 to gain momentum heading into Region 6 play. [player_tooltip player_id='698479' first='Dameon' last='Crosby'] was sharp against the Cougars, tossing three touchdowns, while Michael Nun Fonua had 145 yards on the ground and two touchdowns. Papaseea Matelau is already up to six sacks on the season, and Jonah Slighting has already amassed 26 tackles.

Bountiful Redhawks

Redhawks are 1-2 and could just as easily be 3-0. Bountiful gave up three long passing touchdowns in the third quarter and, if not for that, could have beaten the Herriman Mustangs. In week two, they earned a hard-fought win over Farmington and barely lost 13-10 to Olympus in week three. Bringahm Morrison and [player_tooltip player_id='532694' first='Faletau' last='Satuala'] make up one of the state's top duos on both sides of the ball. Offensively the talented playmakers both have over 250 yards from scrimmage, and defensively, they have both been dominant.

Westlake Thunder

The Thunder started the season 1-0 after barely besting Weber 22-21. They would lose two straight games to Alta and Cedar Valley, but there is plenty of reasons Westlake can get back on the winning path. Derek Anderson and [player_tooltip player_id='705845' first='Griffin' last='Faamausili'] have both shown flashes of being spectacular playmakers. The Thunder's new Coach, Arnold Ale, has his team locked in and ready for the tough gauntlet that is Region 3. Over the last few years, Westlake has been a tough postseason, which will stay the same in 2023.
