Zayden Neill Zayden Neill 6'1" | 165 lbs | QB San Tan Charter | 2024 State AZ , San Tan Charter ’24
Neil has been an eye opening QB since his freshman season, and projects to have a breakout senior year for STC. Really good pocket mechanics to stand tall and move around the pocket swiftly when needed, and he does a great job keeping his eyes downfield to go through progression and hit all 3 levels of throws with timing. Right now, Neill looks like the most polished QB in the state to me in 2A and hold huge potential moving forward as he has noticeably progressed each year. Really looking forward to what Neill can do this season.
Jack Atkinson, Scottsdale Christian ’24
Atkinson is entering his senior season with loads of potential to lead SCA to a state title and draw in a ton of offers. He sizes up with a 6’4″ 195lb frame with room to add mass and only looks to be progressing and maturing. He does an excellent job of standing tall and calm in the pocket and displays a really good pre snap read to get the ball out with solid timing. Smooth thrower with the ability to stretch the field vertically with touch or deliver balls on the money with some zip. Overall a very impressive 2A player that should not be slept on.
Tyson Buckley Tyson Buckley 6'3" | 240 lbs | QB Camp Verde | 2024 State AZ , Camp Verde ’24
Buckley sizes up with a 6’2″ 250lb frame and is part of an air raid offense. Really accurate with the ball as he does a great job throwing receivers open and spotting it up where only his receivers have a shot to snag it. Flashes some good timing and anticipation with zip when he needs to and does a solid job reading defenses to recognize soft spots. Big framed kid which makes it difficult to bring him down for a sack, and also gives Camp Verde the ability to utilize him on goal line and short yardage situations as a ball carrier. Buckley comes off a huge Jr. season by throwing for 2,638 yards and 44 TD’s.
Malachi Wilt Malachi Wilt 6'0" | 195 lbs | QB Verrado | 2026 State AZ , Tonopah Valley ’26
The sophomore comes off an impressive freshman season by throwing for 1,993 yards and 25 TD’s. Really good deep ball thrower as he does a terrific job getting the ball out with timing and delivers with a good trajectory and placement to give his receivers a chance to run under it. Advanced pre-snap read for a sophomore QB to recognize coverages and blitzes to know exactly where he’s supposed to go with the ball. He could be more fluid with his footwork in the pocket, but overall I think Wilt is in good shape for a big 2023 season and will already have a good chunk of film entering his Jr. year next year to put his name on some D3-NAIA recruiting boards.
