Players I’m Watching At The Start Of the Season

Williams has solid tape at both linebacker and running back.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>He has the perfect frame for running the ball he stands 5'8 190 pounds with a thick lower half. He's a solid runner and has a knack for forcing missed tackles with solid contact balance. He doesnt have the required juice you look for, but he's every bit as dynamic with the ball in his hand.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In addition, what can't be forgotten is his ability to catch out of the backfield and be a difference-maker as a pass catcher.&nbsp; What stands out to me is his ability to win on a variety of routes on various alignments.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>From wheel routes out the backfield to routes where he has taken advantage of the middle of the field. He's a standout basketball player and has solid athleticism. Just off the eye test alone, he passes with flying colors in terms of length, height, and frame.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The puzzling part comes as he has no film or even practice clips of him running routes, catching, or blocking; yet he just earned an offer from Boston College. There are always two sides to this coin each side needs to be handled with caution.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I'm venturing to guess that Tyme is due for a monster year, and Boston College is just the first to the party. At 5'11 190 pounds Romain looks more like a modern-day linebacker than the traditional style. With a leaner build rather than a stocky build with plus length.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>He does a great job of reading and reacting and playing downhill. As a defensive athlete, I anticipate seeing Cruz at the edge, linebacker, and maybe even safety.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>He's a 6'0 180 athlete that offers Saint Peter's Prep a myriad of options defensive options and deployment. He has a good size at 6'3 230 pounds and great length.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As a pass rusher, he does a great job of using his length to his advantage. This is where he can take another step in his game, in addition to using his length he needs to add at least two moves to his pass-rushing arsenal.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In addition, he's great against the run and putting himself in positions to make plays at or behind the line of scrimmage.
