The 2023 season in the PAC is going to be competitive. Heritage Hills starts the season off in a dominating fashion. North Posey takes care of Mt. Vernon and it was not even close. Boonville starts the season off with a non-conference win. Forest Park shuts out Princeton at home. Washington struggles in their first game of the season. Gibson Southern travels to Kentucky and struggles early. South Spencer wins their home opener against Tecumseh. Pike Central gets shut out in their non-conference against Riverton Parke. Tell City survives a tough battle against Perry Central. Below are the final scores from Friday's games.

Boonville 26 Paoli 16

Heritage Hills 45 Southridge 13

Forest Park 35 Princeton 0

North Daviess 34 Washington 18

North Posey 49 Mt. The Patriots have a three-headed monster on offense: [player_tooltip player_id='322427' first='Braydon' last='Durham'], [player_tooltip player_id='533140' first='Jett' last='Goldsberry'], and [player_tooltip player_id='553032' first='Hunter' last='Meredith']. [player_tooltip player_id='322427' first='Braydon' last='Durham'] starts his senior season with 10 carries for 129 yards, 1 TD, and 10 total tackles. 2025 RB [player_tooltip player_id='553032' first='Hunter' last='Meredith'] also had 10 carries for 84 yards, 2 TDs, and 10 total tackles. The youngest member of this rushing clinic is 2026 QB [player_tooltip player_id='533140' first='Jett' last='Goldsberry'] who had 6 carries for 106 yards and 1 TD. Heritage Hills stays home for Week 2 and is up against another great rushing team Tell City.

Boonville Shines Against Non-Conference Opponent

Boonville started the season off on the right foot in Week 1. The Pioneers gave 2026 QB [player_tooltip player_id='1233895' first='Grant' last='Davis'] the start and he had a successful first start going 6/7 throwing 114 yards and 2 TDs. 2024 WR [player_tooltip player_id='109616' first='Marques' last='Ballard'] was on the receiving end 4 times with 61 yards, 1 TD, and 1 rushing TD. Davis connected with a fellow 2026 TE [player_tooltip player_id='1207501' first='Tyler' last='Klaner'] for a 54 yard TD pass in the third quarter. Boonville put 2024 RB Wyatt Franz to work in Week 1. Franz carried the ball 16 times for 114 yards, 1 TD, and had 9 total tackles. 2024 OL/DL [player_tooltip player_id='541854' first='Stihl' last='Scott'] dominated on defense and ended up with 10 tackles on the night. Boonville travels to Southridge for Week 2 setting up for a battle under the lights.

North Posey's Run Game is No Match

There is a common theme from the PAC in Week 1: Run Game. 2024 QB Liam Stone helped the Vikings by scoring 5 total TDs last Friday. Stone carried the rock 15 times for 146 yards and 4 TDs. No need to throw the ball when you have two dominating ball carriers. 2025 RB Jedidiah Galvin is the second workhouse for North Posey's offense. Galvin had 8 carries for 138 yards and 1 TD. North Posey takes on a struggling Princeton team on the road in Week 2.

Washington's Young Guns Show Promise in Week 1 Loss

Washington lost against North Daviess in Week 1, but their young offensive weapons showed out. Junior QB [player_tooltip player_id='914230' first='Colton' last='Stowers'] started the 2023 season throwing 247 yards, 1 TD, and 1 rushing TD. Colton's duo partner is sophomore WR [player_tooltip player_id='842399' first='Brody' last='Isza'] who caught 7 passes for 186 yards and 1 TD. This duo is going to be a problem for opposing secondaries this season. Washington looks to get back on track at home in Week 2 against a red hot Edgewood offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='321371' first='Ty' last='Brown'] leads South Spencer to a Week 1 Beatdown

Get to know the name [player_tooltip player_id='321371' first='Ty' last='Brown'] from South Spencer. [player_tooltip player_id='321371' first='Ty' last='Brown'] is a 2025 QB from South Spencer who got his first start on Friday night. The young man dominated on both sides of the ball. Through the air, Ty went 9/12, 167 yards, and 1 TD. On the ground, he had 11 carries, 136 yards, and 3 TDs. Brown showed up on defense making big hits and picking off a throw. Another great performance came from 2026 RB Ethan Fuqua with 11 carries for 108 yards and 1 TD. Brown and South Spencer head to Mount Vernon for a Week 2 bout.

Tell City Wins in a Close One Against Perry Central

Tell City was in a tight one with Perry Central in Week 1. Tell City dominated in the run game with their twin running backs. Noah and Landon Terry are both 2025 RBs for the Tell City Marksmen. Noah had the better night of the two but they both dominated on the ground. Noah had 12 carries for 156 yards, 1 TD, and had a 79-yard kick return for a TD. Landon also had 12 carries for 105 yards and 1 TD. The Marksmen have a great thing going with the Terry brothers. Tell City travels to Heritage Hills in what should be a battle between backfields.
