Gavin Nuckolls-QB- ’26 NW Whitfield
6’0 160 Sophomore: The tall lean QB keeps his feet moving well in the pocket and doesn’t get frazzled with pressure. Is a threat to pull the ball down and run. Accurate deep ball thrower and has the arm strength to get the ball quick to the outside and on the slants. Had the pressure of stepping into the starting role on Friday after the graduation of 4-yr starter Owen Brooker. Responded well completing 13 of 18 passes with a school record tying 5 TD passes, to 5 different receivers, and 294 total yards.
Tyler Niehr-QB/K-’26 North Paulding
Interesting prospect. An unknown heading into the 2023 season as the new QB1 for the Wolfpack. Responded well going 13 of 27 with 2 TD and an interception with 323 total yards in a win on the road at Allatoona. Strong arm that gets the ball out quick. Had TD passes of 49 and 66 on Friday. Limited film at this point but we are anxiously awaiting the HUDL to drop. Has a solid core of WR’s at North Paulding and should have a good Sophomore season. One to keep on your radar playing in Georgia’s highest Classification.
Kyler McGrinn-QB-’24 Bowdon
The 6’0 195 dual QB is one when we knew about Preseason. Solid built with a strong foundation that can scoot. Good vision and has the strength to break tackles and the speed to outrun defenders to the endzone. Was the #13 ranked QB in Alabama last season as a Junior. Was clocked officially at a 4.48 in the 40 this Summer. Iron Red Devil Champion as the strongest pound for pound player on the team. Debuted Friday with 273 total yards and 3 TDs in a 21-20 loss to #4 Manchester. Next level player here.
JR Harris JR Harris 5'9" | 165 lbs | QB Central Carrollton | 2027 State GA -QB-’27 Central
The 5’10 165 Freshman starter has been on everyone’s radar since being named an Addis Middle School All American last year. Saw limited action Friday as the Lions jumped out to an early lead but completed 7 of 7 passes with 2 TDs and added 14 yards rushing with a TD in his 2Q of play. Good delivery and arm strength and is a threat to run with good speed. Knows the game and is a competitor. Looking forward to seeing his progression over the next 4 years as he has a high ceiling in the recruiting world.
Sammy Kunczewski-QB/S-’25 Darlington
The 5’11 170 multisport had a good showing in his QB1 debut with the Tigers on Friday in a win over Christian Academy of Knoxville. He was 13-17 in the air for 176 yards and rushed 13 times for 94 yards with 3 rushing TDs. Athletic guy that rarely leaves the field. Coaches’ son so you have to assume he has a good knowledge of the game. Tough runner that would rather run over you than around you. We look forward to seeing more from this guy 2023.
