The receiver position is no exception, as many young receivers have made strides in the past season and are ready to truly take off this fall. This article will showcase five receivers in the Lansing area who I expect to take a leap forward!
Mason Chadwell Mason Chadwell 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR Lansing Everett | 2025 State MI | Everett | Hudl
Mason took off this offseason and has earned himself a ton of D1 attention. You could easily argue that Mason has already taken off- as he’s already an obvious dominant receiver and one of the best in the 2025 class. This fall, I could see him take off and take another big leap forward in his Junior season. After a full offseason of hard work, he’ll be a mismatch against every single team on Everett’s schedule.
Christopher Battley Christopher Battley 6'1" | 190 lbs | WR Portland | 2025 State MI | Portland | Hudl
Battley is a physical and explosive receiver who had multiple flashes of greatness last season. Against DeWitt (highlights below), he dominated the game with several long TDs, winning against man coverage. Other than what is on his hudl, I don’t remember seeing any other highlights or offseason performances. As long as he’s kept up with other sports and athletic activities, he’ll have another great season.
Traverse Moore Traverse Moore 6'0" | 180 lbs | ATH DeWitt | 2026 State MI | DeWitt | Hudl
This is one of my favorite players in the 2026 class. Traverse is insanely competitive and has great athleticism, route running, and hands. I’ve been able to watch Traverse a few times this offseason, and he was always dominant. He should be utilized in a lot of different ways this season and is bound to have a true breakout season on one of Lansing’s primer teams.
Kaleb Parrish Kaleb Parrish 6'5" | 220 lbs | TE Mason | 2024 State MI | Mason | Hudl
Parrish is about to have an amazing season on both sides of the ball. Last season, Kaleb proved he was one of the best TE/LBs in the state with impressive stats and the offers to show. This offseason, I’ve been incredibly impressed with his athleticism, physicality, and overall stamina (Hope 7v7). Mason has an incredible team this year, and I fully expect them to compete for a state title. Kaleb will be a definite force this season and could work his way to Divison 1 offers.
Ty Rakan Ty Rakan 6'0" | 165 lbs | WR Lansing Catholic | 2025 MI | Lansing Catholic | Hudl
Last season’s highlights showcase good speed and a general mismatch against most of Lansing Catholic’s opponents. Ty is also a dual-sport athlete, playing 3rd Base in baseball. With his consistent work ethic, I am confident that Ty has remained in shape and could perform very well this season, potentially earning college attention.
