Defensively, the talent really showed out this past weekend and really took over their respective games. After watching the film, here are 4 players that stood out on the defensive side of the ball.
D’Mon Marable D’Mon Marable 6’1″ | 195 lbs | DB Clinton | 2024 State TN had a dominant defensive performance in week 2 with 16 total tackles and 5.5 of those being for loss. He scored a touchdown on a fumble recovery. His instincts stood out for the entire game, shooting into the backfield to make big tackles for loss. Marable displayed amazing physical toughness and took great angles to the point of attack. Overall, his mental processing of run concepts and feel for the game was the biggest standout.
Keilyn Smith Keilyn Smith 6’2″ | 255 lbs | DL Knox. Catholic | 2024 State TN was a terror to stop for Brevard High Schools offensive line. He created disruption for the entirety of the game with amazing quickness and play strength. When pass rushing, he created pressure on almost every pass rush rep with dominant hand usage and physicality. Against the run, Smith had multiple tackles for loss and at the line of scrimmage with good technique to stack and shed.

Chauncey Felts Chauncey Felts 5’9″ | 195 lbs | RB Clinton | 2024 TN is another player for Clinton High School to make this standout list. He finished with the stat line of 9 tackles with 1.5 of those for loss with 1 sack and 1 forced fumble. Felts showed excellent instincts when blitzing to time the snap with great burst. He was a force in the backfield and uses that athletic ability to make life difficult for the opposing quarterback.
Stanley Burrow Stanley Burrow 6’1″ | 210 lbs | LB M.A.S.E. | 2025 TN made a bunch of good plays from the off-ball linebacker position. He showed solid awareness to sift through the trash. Burrow showed active hands and feet to gain advantageous positioning to stack and shed with ease. Good block avoidance, he showed nice slipperiness in space and was involved on a bunch of tackles. Great hustle and speed to fly around the field and be involved in all the action.
