It will be a tougher road this season as they said goodbye to a tremendous 2023 class that featured elite RB Carlos Collazo. Nonetheless, after checking them out at the Norris 7v7, it seems like the Huskies just hit a reload. Towering QB [player_tooltip player_id='736420' first='Booker' last='Scheierman'] looks ready to take over the starting spot and is poised to have a big season. Replacing Collazo is now-senior RB [player_tooltip player_id='703729' first='Maddex' last='Egger'], who did a great job during Collazo's absence late last season. [player_tooltip player_id='560709' first='Kellen' last='Peterson'] and crew will be tough to battle on the offensive and defensive lines.

2nd Place: Boone Central - 217 votes

3rd Place: Roncalli Catholic - 171

Preseason C1 Player of the Year

Winner: [player_tooltip player_id='846299' first='Eli' last='Coble'] - QB/ATH - Broken Bow - 328 votes

Hudl

Broken Bow ATH [player_tooltip player_id='846299' first='Eli' last='Coble'] is set to have a big season, as he now has a year of experience under his belt. He mostly contributed as a running QB in 2022 with 507 rushing yards and nine touchdowns to 234 passing yards and two passing touchdowns. Coble displays great speed and burst in his runs with top-tier vision to guide him to open lanes. Despite not being asked to throw a lot, Eli did show a strong arm and good placement on several deep passes. The Indians should field another strong squad, and with Eli threatening defenses on the ground and in the air, they have a chance to make some noise in Class C1.

2nd Place: [player_tooltip player_id='250336' first='Parker' last='Borer'] - RB - Boone Central - 152 votes

Hudl | Twitter

3rd Place: [player_tooltip player_id='340508' first='Brady' last='McGill'] - QB - Roncalli Catholic - 102 votes

Hudl | Twitter

Wayne State Commit*

Preseason C1 Offensive Player of the Year

Winner: [player_tooltip player_id='340508' first='Brady' last='McGill'] - QB - Roncalli Catholic - 170 votes

Wayne State Commit*

One of the top QBs in the 2024 class, [player_tooltip player_id='340508' first='Brady' last='McGill'], will look to lead a loaded Crimson Pride on a deep playoff run. Brady closed out his junior season with 1,849 passing yards and 25 passing touchdowns while adding 315 yards and six touchdowns on the ground. He's a prototypical QB at 6'4" and 200 pounds with a rocket arm. Brady's mobility and ability to keep his eyes searching for open options have helped him stand out amongst others. Wayne State is getting a steal of a QB!

2nd Place: [player_tooltip player_id='250336' first='Parker' last='Borer'] - RB - Boone Central - 146 votes

3rd Place: [player_tooltip player_id='703729' first='Maddex' last='Egger'] - RB - Aurora - 59 votes

Hudl | Twitter

Preseason C1 Defensive Player of the Year

Winner: [player_tooltip player_id='846300' first='Treshaun' last='Beed'] - DB - Aurora - 390 votes

Hudl | Twitter

Treshaun will play a bigger role on the Aurora defense this season and is a player I'm predicting to take off this season. He displays solid technique with nice fluidity when moving on the field. Sleeper to watch!

2nd Place: [player_tooltip player_id='340509' first='Clay' last='Shafer'] - LB - Roncalli Catholic - 162 votes

Hudl | Twitter

3rd Place: [player_tooltip player_id='250624' first='Hank' last='Hudson'] - Boone Central - 113 votes

Hudl | Twitter

Preseason C1 OL of the Year

Winner: [player_tooltip player_id='560709' first='Kellen' last='Peterson'] - Aurora - 12,048 votes

Hudl | Twitter

If there's one thing about the Aurora Huskies, it's that they are going to be tough on the OL and DL. One of the biggest names on the line this season is two-way standout [player_tooltip player_id='560709' first='Kellen' last='Peterson']. In the busiest poll, [player_tooltip player_id='560709' first='Kellen' last='Peterson'] racked up more votes than any other participant in any poll. Although Kellen would be considered undersized, he plays with a physical edge and tons of power that allows him to dominate on either side of the ball.

2nd Place: [player_tooltip player_id='773258' first='Trent' last='Patzel'] - Boone Central - 7,160 votes

Hudl | Twitter

3rd Place: [player_tooltip player_id='516206' first='Tyree' last='Smith Jr'] - Cozad - 42 votes

Hudl | Twitter

Class C2 State Champion

Winner: Norfolk Catholic - 551 votes

The state's all-time leader in football state championships has been chosen as the favorite to win it all again this year. Norfolk Catholic will have some big pieces to replace, namely Karter Kerkman and Kade Pieper, but they also have some good pieces already in place. The most important spot, QB, will be held down by third-year starter [player_tooltip player_id='245898' first='Carter' last='Janssen']. Carter is one of the most efficient passers in Class C2 history and will look to add another notch to his decorated prep career. [player_tooltip player_id='250699' first='Nolan' last='Fennessy'] will be a formidable player on the offensive and defensive line. The Knights will have a tough road back to the championship with a brutal two-week start against Oakland-Craig and Ord, while meetings with Battle Creek and Cedar Catholic waiting in the back half of the schedule. Tough task? Yes. Am I betting against a Coach Bellar team? Not a chance.

2nd Place: Wood River - 254 votes

3rd Place: Battle Creek - 245 votes

Preseason C2 Player of the Year

Winner: [player_tooltip player_id='736215' first='Beau' last='Rohrich'] - RB - Wood River - 413 votes

Hudl | Twitter

The Eagles will be back with their leading rusher from last season in junior [player_tooltip player_id='736215' first='Beau' last='Rohrich']. Beau rushed for 462 yards on 93 carries and scored two touchdowns. We got to watch Beau in action at the Prospect Tour showcase and can say he looks ready to explode in 2023. He has the football player look right off the bat, and then his tape backs it up with a bruising running style. Beau is a back that embraces contact and is always looking to dish some back at defenders. One prediction for Beau this season is that I think we'll see him more in the receiving game out of the backfield.

2nd Place: [player_tooltip player_id='245898' first='Carter' last='Janssen'] - QB - Norfolk Catholic - 244 votes

Hudl | Twitter

3rd Place: [player_tooltip player_id='675852' first='Jaden' last='Williams'] - QB - Doniphan-Trumbull - 162 votes

Hudl | Twitter

Preseason C2 Offensive Player of the Year

Winner: [player_tooltip player_id='736215' first='Beau' last='Rohrich'] - RB - Wood River - 508 votes

Wood River's [player_tooltip player_id='736215' first='Beau' last='Rohrich'] takes home the Preseason Offensive Player of the Year to go with his POY award.

2nd Place: [player_tooltip player_id='245898' first='Carter' last='Janssen'] - QB - Norfolk Catholic - 231 votes

3rd Place: [player_tooltip player_id='324881' first='Waylon' last='Cronk'] - QB - Wood River - 54 votes

Hudl | Twitter

Preseason C2 Defensive Player of the Year

Winner: [player_tooltip player_id='250699' first='Nolan' last='Fennessy'] - DL - Norfolk Catholic - 275 votes

Hudl | Twitter

Norfolk Catholic is definitely glad to have a player like [player_tooltip player_id='250699' first='Nolan' last='Fennessy'] back to help defend their state championship. Nolan has emerged as one of the top two-way trench players in the 2024 class. Nolan has great size at 6'4" and 240 pounds with very good mobility. He's picked up a lot of interest with his OL play but also has a ton of potential on the DL (as you can see, the voters agree). Nolan's motor keeps him moving from snap to whistle, and he does an excellent job keeping track of the football.

2nd Place: [player_tooltip player_id='250337' first='Trent' last='Uhlir'] - LB - Battle Creek - 112 votes

Hudl | Twitter

Nebraska Commit*

3rd Place: [player_tooltip player_id='250665' first='Talan' last='Bruha'] - DB - Ord - 82 votes

Hudl | Twitter

Preseason C2 OL of the Year

Winner: [player_tooltip player_id='737019' first='Noah' last='Packer'] - Wood River - 1,652 votes

Hudl | Twitter

A rising big man to watch in a talented 2025 OL/DL group. He'll be back as the team's left tackle and will be counted on to open big lanes for C2 POY & OPOY winner, [player_tooltip player_id='736215' first='Beau' last='Rohrich'].
