This Friday night we kick off week 1 of High School Football. For this article, I am focusing on players who I expect to have a strong season, but who have not gotten a lot of recognition yet. These players below I expect to have big seasons this year for their respective teams.

[player_tooltip player_id='377822' first='Josiah' last='Wright'] Lebanon. Wright played defensive end for Lebanon last year. Wright is a dominant defensive lineman who is a disruptive player. He is difficult to block one-on-one. He shows good strength and uses it well to push the offensive lineman back into the backfield. Wright shows good athleticism by chasing plays all over the field. Wright has a motor that never stops and he is constantly making plays all over the field. He recently picked up an offer from Misericordia University, and I expect more to come his way.

[player_tooltip player_id='399271' first='Amani' last='Bones'] York High. Bones is projected to be the starting running back this year for York High. Bones will have the benefit of running behind a very good offensive line. That should help him settle in and have a good year. He also has a good skill set and good quickness in the hole. He also has good speed and can run past defenders in the open field. I expect Bones will be a name everyone will know very soon.

[player_tooltip player_id='558777' first='Tommy' last='Hunsicker'] Wilson. Hunsicker was Wilson's starting quarterback last year. I was at his 1st start when he made three 3 interceptions against Roman Catholic. He rebounded after that game to have a solid season. He capped it off by playing his best game against Harrisburg in the playoffs even though it ended in a defeat. Hunsicker going into his 2nd year as a starter is a huge advantage for him. He has had an entire off-season to get better. I am expecting a big jump from him. His film is good as he can make all the throws. Several Colleges have talked to him about playing baseball and football in the future.

[player_tooltip player_id='558776' first='Edison' last='Case'] Wilson. Case played wide receiver last year. I flipped on his film and his 1st 2 routes were touchdown catches against Harrisburg. In the 1st touchdown, he ran a post route from his outside receiver position. He ran a good route and made a great contested catch against the Harrisburg safety. The second touchdown was equally impressive. He ran an inside release on a seam route. He caught the ball inside the 10-yard line and then broke a tackle to score a touchdown. Case has great size standing 6'3" inches tall. I am expecting Case will have a strong year for Wilson this year. He recently picked up an offer from Hamilton College.

[player_tooltip player_id='304154' first='Brandon' last='Way Jr.'] Lancaster Catholic. Way started at cornerback last year for Lancaster Catholic as a Freshman. This year he is projected to play cornerback and play running back and slot receiver for Catholic. Way should be a bigger contributor on offense for the Crusaders. He has the skill set to play both running back and slot receiver. He can catch the ball well and does a nice job of making people miss in the open field. I expect we will see Way stuff the stat sheet on both sides of the bill for Catholic this year.
