This is by no means the undisputed top WR performances of the week. Most of these standouts come from comments made on my “Best Performances” Tweet. So, if you’d like to be included, please drop film under the tweet!
Maddox Greenfield Maddox Greenfield 5'10" | 175 lbs | WR Caledonia | 2024 State MI | Caledonia
Stats: 7 Receptions, 200 Yards, 4 Touchdowns
Maddox helped Caledonia explode out of the gate with a decisive win over Romeo. His film shows how he was able to take over the game at The Big House. There’s multiple highlights of seam/go routes run to perfection, with throws just as perfect. He split zones in the defense, beat man coverage, and earned his big day. Maddox also has a few defensive highlights at DB showing good awareness and a few PBUs.
Seth Marek Seth Marek 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR Petoskey | 2025 State MI | Petoskey
Stats: 5 Receptions, 96 Yards, 3 Touchdowns
What a week for Petoskey! There were multiple standouts for Petoskey, and Seth may be the biggest standout with 3 TDs. His first highlight shows exceptional ball tracking and concentration, winning 4th-down ball with a defender right in his face. His second highlight again shows great ball tracking and speed, able to score on a post route. Seth also booted a 60-yard punt.
Malek Farha Malek Farha 5'10" | 170 lbs | WR Ann Arbor Pioneer | 2025 State MI | AA Pioneer
Stats: 8 Receptions, 120+ yards
Melek remains one of my favorite receivers in the state. An underrated gem, he produced incredibly well for Pioneer in their loss to Adrian. Malek once again demonstrates his near-elite ball tracking, vertical, 50/50 ball wins, and open-field ability. I’d like to note his second highlight in the below tweet where Malek hits the defense with an awesome spin move right after the catch. It was an incredible week for Malek and I’m confident that he’ll continue producing very well!
Buddy Banks-Williams | Davison
Stats: 140 Yards, 1 Touchdown
It was a breakout game for Buddy Banks-Williams as Davison defeated the defending State Champion. He proved to be a high-volume pass catcher with plays drawn up for him in all areas of the field. He caught a few screen passes, slants, and had phenomenal routes down the field where he was able to win separation. I love his ability to make a man miss in the open field. I also love his release and overall fast-twitch movement.
Elisha Durham Elisha Durham 6'1" | 150 lbs | WR West Bloomfield | 2025 State MI | West Bloomfield
Stats: 5 Receptions, 161 Yards, 1TD
One of the biggest surprises of the weekend was Elisha Durham Elisha Durham 6'1" | 150 lbs | WR West Bloomfield | 2025 State MI . Playing against Chippewa Valley with several other Division 1 weapons on the roster, one would think a Elisha wouldn’t stand out as much, but he took over. He produced two huge home-run plays including a 63-yarder on the first drive and a 35-yard TD reception later. After that, Elisha continued getting targets and it was obvious he was Nance’s #1 weapon during Week 1.
Jake Vermaas Jake Vermaas 6'2" | 175 lbs | WR South Christian | 2024 State MI | South Christian
Stats: 5 Receptions, 117 Yards, 2 Touchdowns, 44-yard Punt Return TD, 1 INT
After an insanely productive 2022 and a great offseason in 2023, Jake is continuing his success into the Fall season. Jake proved in these past few months that he can be an all-around receiver. Able to win 50/50 balls with an impressive vertical, run clean routes, and being explosive after the catch. He displayed all that and more. His first TD was a “mossed” type catch, and his punt return demonstrated good vision and speed. You really couldn’t expect a better performance from Jake, and I’m as confident as ever he’ll have an amazing season.
