A pair of New Orleans foes from either side of the Mississippi River met on the West Bank this past week to help kick off Louisiana's scrimmage action for the busy weekend.

John Ehret and its trio of Division-I commit played host at nearby West Jeff to G.W. Carver making the trek across the bridge.

The matchup was cut short, but a few newer players stood out to join [player_tooltip player_id='285195' first='Khayree' last='Lee Jr.'] (LSU), [player_tooltip player_id='139477' first='Wardell' last='Mack'] (Florida), [player_tooltip player_id='285621' first='Armani' last='Cargo'] (Tulane) and others already squarely on the Prep Redzone Louisiana radar.

Romeo Brown | 6-3, 210 DL | G.W. Carver (2026)

The young defensive lineman may have been the biggest player on that side of the ball for the Rams with a taller, long frame and a good motor that, along with senior edge rushers Jermaine Saulter, seemed to be involved in the bulk of the defensive stops near and behind the line.

Corey Dudley Jr. | 6-4, 280 OL | John Ehret (2026)

The big sophomore tackle stood out from the moment he stepped foot on the field for pregame warmups with the 6-foot-4 listing maybe even selling him a little short considering his similar stature to the 6-foot-6 Lee. Dudley, who worked at right tackle for the Patriots' offense, is still young, but certainly a prospect to monitor in this year's sophomore class.

Chad Jackson | 5-6, 150 RB | John Ehret (2024)

The Patriots showed a bit of a thunder-and-lightning backfield with returning starter Damien Smith (5-10, 185) toting the bulk of the early carries between the tackles, and the smaller, shifty Jackson eventually springing loose for the evening's longest, winding scamper to the end zone.

Raymond Lain III | 6-2, 170 WR | John Ehret (2024)

Senior quarterback Eric Cheneau has a wealth of well-known targets at his disposal with Helen Cox transfers [player_tooltip player_id='421653' first='Darnell' last='O'Quinn'] and [player_tooltip player_id='912296' first='Ke'ain' last='Shorts'] joining the trio of Division-I targets in Mack and Cargo — committed to their colleges defensive backs, but who have played both ways during their careers — and Charles Coleman. And another couple pass-catchers with whom we were less familiar caught are attention as well. Lain, a starter, is the tallest, longest athlete of the bunch and a nice complementary weapon to the bunch.

Laurence Nathan | 5-11, 180 RB | G.W. Carver (2024)

Carver's most consistent offensive weapon against a solid Patriots defense that held up well much of the evening, Nathan is a taller, longer athlete than his aforementioned counterparts on the Ehret side. The Rams' senior had a few plays on which he managed to effectively weave through tight traffic between the tackles for decent gains.

[player_tooltip player_id='1644849' first='Anaj' last='Payton'] | 5-7, 140 WR | John Ehret (2025)

The other of the aforementioned two Patriots receivers who newly caught our eye, Payton is another smaller, quicker weapon who had a long catch-in-stride and run on a pass from freshman quarterback Sylas Rood.

Dylan Smith | 5-11, 175 DB/LB | John Ehret (2024)

Mack, Cargo and junior linebacker Jashad Johnson have been the John Ehret defensive standouts primarily on the Prep Redzone Louisiana radar thus far, but strong safety/linebacker Dylan Smith was a consistent presence in the box, flying around near and behind the line of scrimmage for sure, physical tackles.

Cash Williams | 5-11, 160 WR | G.W. Carver (2024)

The senior wide receiver had maybe his Rams' biggest play on a nice leaping catch downfield between two Patriots defenders.
