We are three weeks into the high school football season and wanted to highlight a few of the best players on offense so far in the 5A classification.

Quarterbacks:

[player_tooltip player_id='698401' first='Matt' last='McKea'] || QB || 6'2 || 205 || Alta High School || 2025

[player_tooltip player_id='406982' first='Jack' last='Johnson'] || QB || 6'0 || 195 || Brighton High School || 2024

Isiah SueSue || QB || 6'0 || 180 || West High School || 2024

Jackson Roybal || QB || 5'11 || 195 || West Jordan High School || 2024

[player_tooltip player_id='870715' first='Carson' last='Su'esu'e'] || QB || 6'5 || 200 || Granger High School || 2024

[player_tooltip player_id='717881' first='Helaman' last='Casuga'] || QB || 6'1 || 190 || Timpview High School || 2026

McKea has led the Hawks to a perfect 3-0 star while making timely plays for Alta's offense. Johnson is the only quarterback that has thrown for over 1,100 yards and, just last week, had over 530 yards and six touchdowns in a single game. Isiah SueSue has over 600 yards of total offense in just two games while tossing five touchdowns. Roybal has tossed multiple touchdown passes and thrown for over 230 yards in all three of his games this season. [player_tooltip player_id='870715' first='Carson' last='Su'esu'e'] has quickly acclimated to Utah and has accounted for nearly 1,000 all-purpose yards and 10 touchdowns. Casuga has continued to shin on the turf, leading Timpview to a 2-1 start while shinning in the pocket.

Running Backs:

[player_tooltip player_id='406997' first='Tevita' last='Valeti'] || RB || 6'0 || 195 || Springville High School || 2024

Carter Bucad || RB || 5'10 || 180 || Wasacth High School || 2024

[player_tooltip player_id='406998' first='Cash' last='Henderson'] || RB || 6'2 || 225 || Woods Cross High School || 2024

[player_tooltip player_id='1291718' first='Lote' last='Sotele'] || RB || 6'0 || 200 || Hunter High School || 2025

[player_tooltip player_id='1309966' first='Chevas' last='Gregory'] || RB || 5'10 || 185 || Cedar Vally High School || 2025

Valeti has 11 touchdowns in three games and is averaging 173 yards on the ground per game. Bucad is second in 5A in rushing yards and is currently averaging 7.5 yards per carry. Henderson has already found the end zone eight times, as he is determined to move the chains every time he gets the ball. Sotele leads the state in rushing yards, averaging 244 yards per game. Gregory is already over 400 yards rushing on the season and six touchdowns on the ground.

Wide Receivers

[player_tooltip player_id='532688' first='Landon' last='Figueroa'] || WR || 6'0 || 175 || Granger High School || 2024

[player_tooltip player_id='698341' first='Jaxon' last='Fresques'] || WR || 5'7 || 160 || Northridge High School || 2025

[player_tooltip player_id='698402' first='Chachi' last='Pan'] || WR || 5'10 || 170 || West High School || 2025

Donovan Wismer || WR || 6'0 || 165 || Brighton High School || 2024

Dominic Overby || WR || 6'4 || 180 || West Jordan High School || 2024

No receiver in 5A has brought in more touchdowns than Figueroa, who has found the end zone 6 times in just three games. Fresques had 196 yards and two touchdowns in his first game of the season and hasn't slowed down since. Pan has over 300 yards receiving in just two games and has been a tough cover on the outside. Wismer has over 445 yards in just three games as he's stepped up for the Bengals. Overby has made multiple big plays for the Jaguars on the outside and already has two games over 130 yards.

Tight Ends

[player_tooltip player_id='406967' first='Roger' last='Saleapaga'] || TE || 6'5 || 217 || Orem High School || 2024

Will Moe || TE || 6'2 || Kearns High School || 2025

Saleapaga already has over 190 yards on the season and continues to be one of the state's toughest covers. Moe has been a reliable presence over the middle of the field and is a physical run blocker.

Offensive Linemen

[player_tooltip player_id='406986' first='Trey' last='Price'] || OL || 6'3 || 300 || Viewmount High School || 2024

[player_tooltip player_id='875505' first='Nuku' last='Mafi'] || OL || 6'4 || 295 || West High School || 2024

[player_tooltip player_id='406976' first='Siosaia' last='Lapuaho'] || OL || 6'4 || Alta High School || 2024

[player_tooltip player_id='406981' first='Moala' last='Molisi'] || OL || 6'4 || 250 || Highland High School || 2024

[player_tooltip player_id='406969' first='Semisi' last='Tonga'] || OL || 6'4 || 310 || West High School || 2024

These five offensive linemen have given their quarterbacks time to make throws and their backs space to break off big plays. They do a great job defeating pass-rush moves, and you can run behind them in short-yardage situations to move the chains.
