Continue ReadingStill relatively early in the high school careers of the 2025 class, the latest Prep Redzone Louisiana rankings update included several top-100 debuts as the overall list expanded from 100 to 200 prospects.
Here’s a look at the seven new additions from No. 31 to 50.
No. 31 D.K. Mays D.K. Mays 6'4" | 250 lbs | DL Central (Baton Rouge) | 2025 State LA | 6-4, 240 DL | Central (Baton Rouge)
Nicholls State and Southeast Missouri State became the first two colleges to offer the Wildcats’ budding standout who had strong showings at both Tulane and LSU camps where his tall, long frame and good speed at his size were on display.
No. 32 Eli Friend Eli Friend 6'1" | 195 lbs | QB Isidore Newman | 2025 State LA | 6-1, 195 QB | Isidore Newman
The heir to the helm of the Greenies’ offense that has garnered such heavy spotlight the past several years has had a great spring and summer preparing for his first season as the starter. The rising junior is another poised leader with a strong arm and the athleticism to make plays on the move.
No. 43 Caleb Ricks Caleb Ricks 6'1" | 170 lbs | DB St. Amant | 2025 State LA | 6-1, 170 DB | St. Amant
The younger brother of former LSU and Alabama corner Elias Ricks, now with the Philadelphia Eagles, first hit the Prep Redzone Louisiana radar during this spring’s 7-on-7 season. And the long, fluid corner — who has had Duke and Mississippi State among the first programs starting to recruit him — has looked good each time out since then.
No. 44 Derrick Johnson | 6-4, 220 WR | Holy Cross
At his size already midway through his high school career, Johnson ultimately ends up more as a tight end at the next level. But the athleticism the multisport standout — also a Prep Hoops Louisiana-ranked basketball prospect — possesses makes him a versatile weapon Holy Cross can line up all over the field and create problems for opposing defenses. Indiana extended his first offer in May.
No. 45 Brandon Henderson Brandon Henderson 6'0" | 170 lbs | ATH Woodlawn (Shreveport) | 2025 State LA | 6-0, 170 WR | Woodlawn (Shreveport)
The Knights’ speedy multisport athlete holds some of his school’s better track times of the past decade-plus — including an 11.38-second 100-meter and 23.51-second 200-meter — and actually looks faster on the football field as he burns past and pulls away from defenders on vertical routes or with the ball in his hands on screens and sweeps.
No. 47 Gresham Perry Gresham Perry 6'4" | 285 lbs | OL Teurlings Catholic | 2025 State LA | 6-4, 285 OL | Teurlings Catholic
The younger brother of 2019 LSU signee Thomas Perry, already with a college frame of his own and a Louisiana (Lafayette) offer to show for it, is one of the headliners of a group of potential Teurlings Catholic prospects worth getting a closer look at this fall.
No. 50 Aidan Anding Aidan Anding 5'11" | 165 lbs | DB Ruston | 2025 State LA | 6-0 DB | Ruston
Prep Redzone Louisiana — or, Prep Hoops Louisiana — has actually seen more of the Bearcats’ multisport standout on the basketball court, but the springy athleticism is translating notably to his cornerback role on the football field, including a Louisiana Tech offer this summer.
