Continue ReadingThe embodiment of consistency. A previous notion now validated, as we’ve said for years that Malvern Prep’s Peter Jones Peter Jones 6’5″ | 300 lbs | OL Malvern Prep | 2024 State PA is the most college-ready tackle, one with the highest floor, among his 2024 classmates. The young man has sat atop these rankings for 2+ years, holding off hot names like Ryan Cory Ryan Cory 6’4″ | 285 lbs | OL Pine-Richland | 2024 State PA and Kevin Heywood Kevin Heywood 6’7″ | 300 lbs | OL Pope John Paul II | 2024 State PA . Same can be said for the young man below him. Malvern Prep plans to dominate competition this Fall in the Inter-Ac, with Peter Jones Peter Jones 6’5″ | 300 lbs | OL Malvern Prep | 2024 State PA holding down the fort in the trenches. With this kid at tackle, MP is already one step ahead of said competition.

Same sentiment for McDowell’s Cooper Cousins Cooper Cousins 6’6″ | 310 lbs | OL McDowell | 2024 State PA that was stated for Peter Jones Peter Jones 6’5″ | 300 lbs | OL Malvern Prep | 2024 State PA . Too far above and away the more college-ready prospect. Heywood might project to have higher upside, recent recruitment might suggest as such, yet I cannot deny Cousins’s tape from last Fall. An offseason spent refining his game, I can’t imagine anything short of dominance this coming Fall. Cousins, along with Peter Jones Peter Jones 6’5″ | 300 lbs | OL Malvern Prep | 2024 State PA , have placed inside the top 5 on our ranks over the past three updates.
As stated briefly above, Kevin Heywood Kevin Heywood 6’7″ | 300 lbs | OL Pope John Paul II | 2024 State PA is the prospect out of this bunch with the highest upside. McDowell’s Cooper Cousins Cooper Cousins 6’6″ | 310 lbs | OL McDowell | 2024 State PA boasts a similar frame to Heywood, which is the prime factor bolstering Heywood’s stock. Teams drooled over the idea of molding this clay. Clay molders in Wisconsin are all too familiar with developing promising young talent. Although things haven’t panned out the way he or the Badgers would have liked, Nolan Rucci was the last giant lineman prospect ranked inside the top ten to commit to Wisconsin out of Pennsylvania. Hopefully, and very likely, Heywood will find better success than Rucci moving forward.

The state Champion and now top-ten lineman has done enough to earn a spot over Caleb Brewer Caleb Brewer 6’5″ | 285 lbs | OL Wyomissing | 2024 State PA . Admittedly, you can ask me any day of the week who I’d take over Cory and Brewer and the answer might be different each day. Both do different things very well, I imagine coaching staffs view Cory to have the higher floor as to Caleb Brewer Caleb Brewer 6’5″ | 285 lbs | OL Wyomissing | 2024 State PA carrying the higher ceiling. Either way, the two round out the top five at the position, a top illustrious top five that might be the best in terms of talent that I’ve covered throughout my years at Prep Redzone.
We see the value both Wyomissing and Pine-Richland receive out of these two anchors, as both programs are expected to see the same State-Championship expectations that they’ve received in the past, largely in part due to these two young men. 2023 classes are long gone, moving on to the next level. There’s going to be extended pressure on these two in particular set keep the bar set by the ones who came before them.
Ryan Howard Ryan Howard 6’7″ | 300 lbs | OL Downingtown West | 2024 State PA cements yet another top ten ranking finish. The Kansas State commit possesses a gifted lineman skill set that will more than likely always place him among the elite of his class. I have flirted with the idea of ranking Howard inside the top three, as Heywood, Cory, and Brewer have all fluctuated around the top. With added eyes to the Downingtown West program this year, even more pressure is placed square on the shoulders of the 6’7 behemoth. He can handle it. A Downingtown West preview is expected to drop this week, his role will be expanded on further in that piece. He’ll prove to be a pivotal piece to the DWest puzzle of course.
Zafir Stewart Zafir Stewart 6’5″ | 330 lbs | OL Imhotep Charter | 2024 State PA makes his fourth consecutive top-30 appearance. Much like the prospects above, Stewart is pretty much a lock to place inside the top 50 from here on out. Stewart tags along with teammates Jahsear Whittington Jahsear Whittington 6’1″ | 280 lbs | DL Imhotep Charter | 2024 State PA and Kenny Woseley as the stalwarts leading the Panthers to what they hope will be a 5A state championship this coming season. Imhotep has the right kids stationed at the right places, with Stewart serving as the seasoned and experienced tackle holding down the fort and opening lanes for their stable of backs. You can make the case that Stewart’s value to the program is immeasurable.
Andrew Erby Jr Andrew Erby Jr 6’3″ | 285 lbs | DL Steelton Highspire | 2024 PA . is the lone prospect on this list that has yet to announce his commitment. For those in a hurry, you won’t have to wait too long, as he and his brother Alex are scheduled to announce their decision this coming Friday. Thinking of a Steelton Highspire team without the Erby twins is a strange and unsettling thought, not an exaggeration. I’m positive the team will cherish the senior campaigns, I’m positive Andrew Erby will leave it all out on the field too. Erby is a Power Five talent that could choose to play Group of Five football, an absolute steal for whatever program lands him. I personally like his abilities along the defensive front, yet I fully understand if a coach wants to continue molding him into a premier college football offensive lineman.

Taking a look above, every elite-level lineman has a clear stake as to why their respective teams find so much success. We know William Penn York’s departing class was an immensely talented one, one that the rest of the crew could rely on. Not anymore. I’m very curious to see how WPY’s Michael McMonigle Michael McMonigle 6’7″ | 290 lbs | OL William Penn (York) | 2024 State PA holds up as the man in the trenches. York is going to need the best version of McMonigle, we are expecting exactly at, the move into the top ten proves it. We know how special lineman groups are that come out of Pennsylvania. It’s always meaningful placing inside the top ten of that group, which McMonigle now has. Maryland nabbed he and Anthony Robsock Anthony Robsock 6’6″ | 260 lbs | OL Central Dauphin | 2024 State PA , who also has a claim to a top-ten spot himself.

Syracuse lands Noah Rosahac Noah Rosahac 6’5″ | 270 lbs | OL Jim Thorpe | 2024 State PA , who finds himself placed inside the top ten offensive line group. The 35th overall spot, this being Rosahac’s highest ranking of the Jim Thorpe senior’s career. We set the stage here, as the highest-ranking Jim Thorpe prospect period, that goes for the history of Prep Redzone PA. Although it being a short history, a ton of pressure weighs on the shoulders of Rosahac, pressure he can handle. He’ll be tasked with dominating the trenches, not far from what he showed us on his junior tape. I get the sense that the young man is still somewhat underrated. Syracuse is grabbing quality talent out of Pennsylvania, Rosahac being one of their prized trenchman.
