Preseason Preview: Notre Dame Prep Saints

<!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Overview</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Notre Dame Prep comes off an 11-2 season from a year ago and will have all the potential to have another stellar season and make a run for a 5A State Title. They're stacked from top to bottom, and a big piece of their success will come from the [player_tooltip player_id='115517' first='Noah' last='Trigueros'] and [player_tooltip player_id='368921' first='Cooper' last='Perry'] connection. Perry has been a highly touted athlete and one of the most intriguing recruits to follow after his breakout 2022 season, which led to numerous P5 offers. I've been in Trigueros's corner for quite some time, as he's continued to progress and mature each year, and I think this is going to be his make or break year to really explode. Defensively they will lose a chunk of standout players from a year ago, but will return one of the best defensive players in 5A with [player_tooltip player_id='169421' first='Deacon' last='Shea']. Shea racked up over 120 tackles and 4.5 sacks last year and shows no signs of slowing down. Also returning is 2025 [player_tooltip player_id='704785' first='JJ' last='Francis'], who was a sure ballhawk in 2022 snagging 5 INT's. Although they return with a ton of talent and loads of potential, their schedule won't give them any favors. In my opinion, they're in the toughest division in 5A in the Northeast Valley, especially with the addition to ALA-Gilbert North (Previously 4A). Along with those tough region games, they'll also have to play 6A Brophy, Desert Edge, Sunnyslope, and St. Augustine from California. On the flip side, if NDP does tend go 10-0 or 9-1, there's a strong chance they land a spot in the open division playoff instead of the 5A playoff.
