CANADA-- At 6 PM Central we released our first ever 2025 rankings for Prep Redzone Canada, unleashing a bulk of the top Canadian prospects from British Columbia to Quebec and everywhere in between. With the release of the 2025 rankings, we start off every new rankings update here at PRZ with a preview of the rankings, who made our top five, other superlatives, and which 2025 Canadian prospects are in my eyes going to be likely on the rise up our rankings when we re evaluate in the next 3-4 months.

The PRZ Prospect Evaluation Process

Although this paragraph might get repetitive after doing several rankings update per year with PRZ, I believe it is still important to understand the question of what our PRZ prospect evaluation process looks like. Here is how we break it down:

Our #1 priority and goal with Prep Redzone is to put prospects on the map for college coaches and programs at all levels to advance their exposure thru content and rankings. We rate prospects on next-level potential not stats, not on the team's rankings in the state, it's all about the prospects potential and how his skillsets fit at the next level and most importantly: what we see on tape. I have scouted several prospects that will peak early in their high school career and might be ranked higher than where they end up in the end of their high school career and that's why our rankings will change 3-4 times per year at Prep Redzone Canada because we love consistency, as we also love to factor in live evaluations year-around and we have seen prospects within a 3 month span add 30 pounds of muscle and more length, while others stay the same or are not as active in the weight room, field reps, etc.. That is our process with every rankings update, as we have no bias towards any one school, prospect, it's all what we see on tape and in live evaluations only whether that is from college camps or starting next fall, watching live games.

Our #1 priority and goal with Prep Redzone is to put prospects on the map for college coaches and programs at all levels to advance their exposure. Although we know there are several significant high school prospects playing prep school football in the United States we will cover those Canadian prospects on the site thru content, while our state sites will cover those prospects from a rankings and content perspective in Florida, the Northeast, or wherever they are located.

Meet Our First PRZ Canada 2025 Top 5

#5 :[player_tooltip player_id='892338' first='Owen' last='Lock'], Linebacker, Huron Heights Twitter

Owen popped out to me as having one of the twitchiest first step amongst Canadian linebackers in the 2025 class. Even thru a heavy wall of contact, Owen has the high football IQ to stay balanced with his excellent vision to seal off the ball carrier before he gets out of the inside box. In Owen's 2022 season he had 42 and of which were 12 tackles for a loss along with five sacks. This kid has a ton of feist he displays consistently on tape which makes him LB1 in our first 2025 rankings.

#4: [player_tooltip player_id='887034' first='Ismael' last='Mohamed'], Defensive Back, Lethbridge Tape

Ismael's quick trigger of getting downhill fast really popped out to me on tape from my first look of this Alberta defensive back. At 6'2 175 pounds, Ismael shows plenty of instinct with his ball-tracking whether in pass coverage or stopping the run up a level as extra security for his linebackers on a consistent basis. Close to every-time I watched Ismael on tape, he showed a high level of physicality when he made contact with a pass-catcher as one of Alberta and the country's hardest hitters amongst defensive backs in the 2025 class who also has great range and stride to go with it.

#3: [player_tooltip player_id='887027' first='Carson' last='Hartmann'], Defensive Tackle, Salisbury Twitter

Carson I believe has the highest next-level ceiling amongst our top five prospects overall across the country. He shows off combative hands with plenty of strength brewing at the point of attack and can get off his blocks very quickly. At 6'2 295 pounds, Carson already has the next-level type body that you won't have to add frame to when he gets on campus and at that size shows off plenty of fluidity with his athletic mobility getting into the backfield. This young man should certainly attract some Division I suitors in my eyes.

#2: [player_tooltip player_id='881418' first='Travis' last='Hayden'], Defensive End, Oak Park Tape

The instinction that Travis plays with on tape is certainly what drew my eyes to him early on. I also like prospects that have the position flexibility and at 6'2 240 pound, Travis showed off a great sized football IQ that has great identification skillsets in whatever coverage you throw at him. Travis also has wired up hands with his swim moves and shows off a blue collar work ethic that shows off great length with his stretch to reach for the ball carrier with his forceful strength. That instinct Travis plays with is what made him our #2 overall prospect as a defensive end with smooth shedding ability as well.

#1: [player_tooltip player_id='881417' first='Danley' last='Fenelon'], Defensive End, Toronto Scarborough Twitter

Danley is a 6'5 220 pound defensive end that if you blink for even one quick second on tape, you will already see his extreme agility already deep into the backfield causing havoc. He also attracted me to his skillsets with his flexibility to adjust to the ball position to make the best possible contact with the ball, and he does this consistently on tape which I loved to see. The length and athleticism Danley has at his size is only going to grow and grow more with the more reps he gets. I cannot wait to see more growth out of Danley into his junior season for Scarborough at this kid's best football in right ahead of him over the next handful of years as a Division I fit with frame to keep growing with.

Three Athletes to Watch for in 2025

[player_tooltip player_id='892401' first='Kymarri' last='Smith'], ATH, Cardinal Newman Twitter

Kymarri I ranked as the #1 athlete in Canada as this kid's elusive agility when he leaves the pocket shows off plenty of electricity for the Cardinal Newman running game. His burst can get separation very easily on tape and his change of direction has to cause chaos for defensive coordinators that have to find a game plan to stop this kid. Even in the reps where Kymarri has to run thru contact, he runs so fluidly that you will need much more than an arm tackle to bring him to the turf. Kymarri reminds me of the days of playing Madden with Michael Vick, as a prospect that can just run circles around the defense with his legs as an "it" factor wherever he is on the field. As far as the next level goes, I could certainly see Kymarri turning into a slot-back with all that speed and agility with the versatility to be a huge asset to the run game. Certainly a prospect easily destined for Saturday's in my eyes.

[player_tooltip player_id='887028' first='Arlen' last='Gray'], ATH, Bellerose Twitter

Whether it is his quick developing change of direction or his football instincts, Bellerose's [player_tooltip player_id='887028' first='Arlen' last='Gray'] has a handful of skillsets that shed well at the next-level. As a pass-catcher, Arlen shows off plenty of smooth athleticism to get himself in position over the top of the ball and does so with that instinct I mentioned in the first sentence. Consistency is a big skillset I evaluate heavily on tape as Arlen shows off plenty of that when you roll his tape. I also believe he has a burst-er game speed than what his 40 time will show you, as I love watching this kid's football IQ continue to grow. Arlen is certainly a Saturday prospect in my eyes.

[player_tooltip player_id='892347' first='Spencer' last='White'], ATH, Harry Ainlay

Spencer is a prospect that popped off on tape as a wide receiver that is not afraid to be vicious. On tape he lays down the hammer like a downhill freight train coming at you with how physical he shows off to be in his 6'0 195 pound frame. Not just is Spencer physical from his blocking either, as when this kid has the football is his hands he runs with the same motor you get from what I mentioned above as a longer striding slot-back that has some solid burst around the edges of the field. A development in my eyes for Spencer lies with his ball control in the open field as with more reps catching the football, this kid will develop a bunch more poise especially in the open field.

10 Prospects I See as Stockrisers by Next Update

These are my shortlist of ten prospects I could see as stockrisers by the next 2025 class update in the next-3-4 months.

[player_tooltip player_id='892361' first='Cash' last='Amos'], Athlete, Belmont Twitter

[player_tooltip player_id='892341' first='Elle' last='Jackson'], Defensive Linemen, Earl Marriott Twitter

[player_tooltip player_id='881419' first='Jayden' last='Weisser'], Defensive Back, Harry Ainlay Twitter

[player_tooltip player_id='892299' first='Lucas' last='Gonzales'], Wide Receiver, Vancouver College Tape

[player_tooltip player_id='892344' first='Tariq' last='Ali'], Defensive Tackle, Holy Cross (Surrey) Twitter

[player_tooltip player_id='892307' first='DJ' last='Fonti'], Quarterback, Laurier Twitter

[player_tooltip player_id='892304' first='Brayden' last='Hyde'], Defensive Back, St. Paul's Twitter

[player_tooltip player_id='887037' first='James' last='Carr'], Offensive Linemen, Paul Kane Tape

Samson Sacther, Linebacker, Windsor Twitter

[player_tooltip player_id='892366' first='Markus' last='Chiodo'], Tight End, St. Ignatius Twitter
