Continue ReadingThis was one of my first looks of Lawson during a live-evaluation and he certainly showed me why he’s one of our top 10 prospects in North Dakota’s 2024 class. During Indy drills, Lawson showed off huge amounts fluidity with his poised footwork as he certainly played with plenty of instinct with his athletic movement in the OL group. Diving into 1v1 reps, Lawson showed off a highly catchy first step to the ball as one of the top Midwest offensive linemen I got to watch on Saturday at the North Dakota Flagship camp. Lawson also has a high football IQ and academically has a 4.0 GPA at Grand Forks Red River. He certainly looks like a Division I FCS fit in my eyes and should see his recruitment significantly pick up in the next month or two for sure. Twitter
Kade has been a defensive line prospect that I would highly consider as a stockriser from the multiple Division I camps I have seen him at, including last Saturday at the UND Flagship Camp. At 6’5 240 pounds, I was super impressed with Kade’s broad jump (9’3) at that size which just shows how explosive this kid really is in North Dakota’s 2025 class as one of the top defensive linemen in the class. He showed off later in camp some feisty hands and showed off strong technique with his swim moves to get home into the backfield on several occasions. Kade was one of very few 2025 prospects from camp that walked out of Grand Forks with an offer from the Fighting Hawks, which certainly shows despite somewhat light tape, how high this young man’s ceiling is at the Division I level. He certainly will see a jump upwards in our 2025 North Dakota rankings by next update in the coming months. Twitter
A first look prospect that I got my eyes on out of Kansas, was Spring Hill (KS) defensive end Mark Debiak. Mark was another intriguing prospect via the early morning session in testing shows impressive explosiveness with a 9’6 broad jump at 6’3 245 pounds. Mark showed off later in drills plenty of length with his frame, showing off instinctive hands and plenty of range with his fluid footwork and one that certainly can has the dexterity to get to the outside box with how efficiently he could crash into the backfield. Based on looking at his frame, I certainly believe there is more size that could be added to this young man and after one D2 offer, Mark was another defensive end prospect that after making the long haul to Grand Forks, picked up his first Division I offer on Saturday from the Fighting Hawks. Thomas is a OL prospect I have been commonly hearing about all summer long and one that I had circled early to get a live evaluation on ASAP. At 6’3 280 pounds, Thomas passed my eye test with his measurables for sure and in my eyes is a OL prospect with high potential. He was a prospect that I thought from start to finish at the UND Flagship Camp, showed quick growth with developing his skillsets, especially with his footwork, balance, and his vision in the trenches. I also believe over time, Thomas can grow with more physicality on his punch as right now he shows well-balance skillsets with his pass-protection. Thomas is certainly going to be a must-add to my upcoming 2024 rankings in South Dakota as one that has had a big summer with college coaches in the NSIC. Twitter
I was impressed with the growth of Cam from watching him last fall with how much stronger he’s gotten, adding about 15-20 pounds to his frame to solidify playing on the defensive line at the next level. He showed off a quickly noticeable twitch off his first step when I watched him 1v1s, as his quick trigger off the ball has certainly gotten swifter since last Fall. Cam also was more collected in my eyes with working his hands against bigger competition as he won a handful of 1v1 reps with solid technique and well-developed athletic angles to get into the backfield. At 6’1 225 pounds, Cam is one of the biggest sleepers in North Dakota’s 2024 class right now, somehow still waiting for that first offer and is one that if it was me, he would be a prospect I would offer right now with how locked in he has gotten with his development since watching him last Fall. Highlights
Jack Hansen
Jack Hansen
Jack was another intriguing defensive end out of Eagan (Minn) in the morning session at the UND Flagship Camp. He caught my eyes at 6’4 245 pounds with a highly fluid 8’11 broad jump which shows how much athletic growth in his tank firing off the ball in the later reps in Grand Forks. He that off in 1v1s/Indy drills, as Jack showed off an agile first step and also showed off some well-balance instincts with his vision the second he got his hands off the offensive linemen. Jack is a versatile prospect in my eyes at the next-level as on tape he shows off that he could play either TE or DE in college although I believe the upside with Jack lies with the development of his footwork as he has a higher ceiling at DE with improving that going into his senior season. He holds two NSIC offers at the moment from Mankato and Duluth and should up his recruiting trail in the coming months. Twitter
