No matter how close we follow high school football there is always new names that emerge in the Summer prior to the start of the season. In this article we highlight a few of the players we learned about this offseason.

Zhay'lyn Bell

6'5 205 QB ('25 Villa Rica Wildcats)

Long lean athletic QB. Has the speed and awareness to avoid the pass rush. Strong throwing arm that gets the ball out quick. One of the best I've seen on film throwing the slants and out routes, delivering the ball on target with a lot of "juice" behind it. Workout warrior that has a good lean athletic build with long arms. Good frame that could carry more weight, would not be shocked to see him around the 225 mark before the end of his high school career. Was clocked officially at 4.55 this Spring and had a long jump of 10'2. We look forward to seeing him this Fall.

Charlie Idom

6'2 190 WR/S ('25 Christian Heritage Lions)

I saw this guy in 7v7 this year and immediately had to check the roster for his name. Big strong WR that has the ability to get behind the defense. Good hands that high points the ball in traffic. He has a 255 PC max, 36 vertical jump and sports a 4.2 GPA. Aggressive in coverage. Has no HUDL film available but looking forward to seeing what this guy can do when the pads come on.

Darian Keefe

6'4 160 QB ('26 LFO Warriors)

The rising Sophomore has the potential to have an outstanding high school career with the Warriors. Long and lean with 3 years left to grow. Has a strong, accurate arm that can get the ball 40 yards down the field on a level plane. Coachable kid that excels in the classroom. A two-sport athlete that garnered some attention on the basketball court his Freshman season. He is coached by a great staff at LFO and has some weapons returning around him that should make his transition to QB1 easier. We are looking forward to seeing what this guy can do when the pads come on this Fall.

Chase Ward

6'2 185 QB/LB ('24 Coahulla Creek Colts)

7v7 season is the time for new QBs to shine, and Ward did just that. He steps into the QB1 role this season following the graduation of Kace Kinnamon who set all the Colts passing records during his tenure. Based on what I saw this Summer the Colts won't miss a beat. Ward is a tall and solid with an accurate arm that can get the ball down field and has the arm speed to zip the short throws. Tough kid that is a throwback football player that will rarely leave the field on Friday night switching over and playing LB on defense. Excellent student athlete that carries a 3.8 GPA in the classroom.

6'3 205 LB (Mt. Zion Eagles)

Technically not a new name on my list. I had heard a lot about this young man over the last few years but I never realized how good he was until i saw him live this off season. Great build at 6'3 205. Moves well and has a good instinct for the football. High motor and strong, makes him hard to block 1v1. He is your prototypical LB that loves to bring it and is a finisher. Multisport athlete that participates in basketball, wrestling and track during the offseason. Under the radar prospect that if he chooses could play at the next level.
