Lincoln Southeast Clinic 7/21 Takeaways

The Knights are currently in the middle of their summer clinic as they begin to gear up for the season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:separator --> <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" /> <!-- /wp:separator --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>- The depth at key positions is going to be huge during the long season. The OL group is especially deep with at least 6-7 starting caliber players. The skill positions also feature lots of quality players.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>- Speaking of the OL, as is the case with most teams, it starts with the big guys up front. Left tackle [player_tooltip player_id='250290' first='Cooper' last='Johnson'] (<em><a href="https://twitter.com/CooperJohnson74" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Twitter</a></em>) looks the part of a next-level tackle, period. [player_tooltip player_id='319005' first='Dane' last='Newman'] (<em><a href="https://twitter.com/danenewman11" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Twitter</a></em>) is up next with potential on both OL and DL. Their average size is about 6'3" and 205ish pounds, with great explosiveness, violent hands, and can get great bend coming off the edge. Lincoln High transfers Davieian and Donald will be key defensive players 2024 DB/ATH [player_tooltip player_id='250611' first='Davieian' last='Williams'] (<em><a href="https://twitter.com/DavieianW">Twitter</a></em>) was involved in all three facets of the game and received quite a few touches in today's reps. I didn't get to see [player_tooltip player_id='407833' first='Donald' last='DeFrand Jr'] (<em><a href="https://twitter.com/DefrandJr">Twitter</a></em>) in action, but I have no doubt he's had no issues adjusting. They have similar frames. Both possess great size/athleticism, and both of them rotated into the first team in various roles. Nate has tons of upside at receiver and the versatility to play a LB/S hybrid role.
