Continue ReadingJune was a busy month recruiting-wise in the Garden State. As the calendar turned to July, expect the recruiting battles to heat up as does the summer heat. Nowhere near halfway into the new month, there were several noteworthy prospects who announced their commitment status since our last update here. See who-is-going-where below.
The Massachusetts-to-Jersey pipeline continues to get stronger. East Coast Prep has come down to Jersey once more to scoop up yet another freakishly athletic prospect from Essex County. The Orange Tornado’s Khyron Hill, listed as an Athlete in the class of 2023, has committed to the post-graduate school program. This marks at least the fifth commit I can recollect off the top of my head to join Firebirds.

Anytime a top-10 player in the state goes off the board, it is a big deal. Where did Prep Redzone’s 10th overall and 3rd defensive back prospect decide to attend school? Kaj Sanders Kaj Sanders 6’2″ | 180 lbs | DB Bergen Catholic | 2024 State NJ originally was rumored that he would heading to Madison to play for the Wisconsin Badgers; however, Sanders will be staying home and playing on the banks of the ole’ Raritan, suiting up for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. This is a huge get for Rutgers, as they land their first top-10 player in the state of New Jersey from the class of 2024.
In my experience New Jersey has traditionally not necessarily been a hotbed for tight ends; however, Shore Regional has one tight end who checks all the boxes, including recently his commitment status. Whitacre, a 6’4″ 245lb tight end, will be changing shades of blue – graduating from a Blue Devil to a Blue Hen. As birds travel south for the winter, Whitacre will flock to a city with a familar name, Newark, to play ball for the University of Delaware.
High caliber prospects who perform extremely well in the classroom. This is the cornerstone of every successful program, as high school coaches look to prepare young men for life. Yevchak of Donovan Catholic epitomizes this. With interest from highly prestigious programs like Dartmouth, UPenn, Princeton, and Yale, the offensive lineman will be heading to the Bronx to suit up for the Fordham Rams in the fall of 2024.

A mountain of a man just made one of the biggest decisions of his life. Unquestionably one of the, literally, biggest prospects to come out of New Jersey made his big announcement earlier this week. Daniels, a 6’8″ 370lb offensive tackle from Bergen Catholic, has decided to line up between the hedges in Athens for the reigning, back-t0-back College Football Playoff Champion Georgia Bulldogs. Practically having his pick of every school in the country to attend, the Dawgs beat out Florida State, Penn State, Rutgers, and Texas for his services – all of which Daniels took official visits to.
